great looking store with friendly staff in a convenient location with just about everything you could ask for... steve, i specifically came to your store to support your local business- i don't even live here yet. i asked for a specific product with a specific feature for a specific purpose- three times you assured me i had the correct product in my hand. fifty dollars and fifteen minutes later i was on the phone with you asking why the product didn't do what we had discussed fifteen minutes earlier. while i appreciate the prompt refund and courteous and friendly staff- i would have really appreciated you have taking the time up front to read the package before sending me on my way....because i didn't appreciate the unnecessary trip back your store for the refund. overall, a terrible first experience....but i do support the locals as much as possible. and i do intend on moving in soon, thus i'll be back. hopefully we can...

I love Ace Hardware. For many years, I have been going there instead of Home Depot or Lowes whenever I can. I recently had an experience that leaves me feeling betrayed. I visited the Punta Gorda store on Feb. 27th and bought $20 worth of hardware, screws and epoxy and give the clerk, Lindsay, my $5 discount card that I had rec'd in the mail. She failed to apply the $5 discount, but I didn't notice until I got home. I called and she said that she would mail the card back to me. Today, I called and talked to an extremely rude person named Steve, who may be the owner. He told me they won't be mailing that card back to me, but I could get the discount when I next went in. That was fine, but his demeanor and attitude was so unfriendly and rude, that I told him I didn't appreciate his attitude and he told me to stop coming in and hung up on me. Way to go, Steve. First time in Puenta Gorda. Stilling thru store to see if there were any thing I would like to purchase for my home. I then asked one of thr employees if I could use their restroom He pointed at the door that said restroom I go in and use it. While washing my hands a knock on the door I yelled out one minute. I open the door, it's another employee that went out of her was to tell me all her employees were accounted for and this is a private bathroom. I was never so insulted in my life. Like I was a homeless woman that just had to use the ace hardware restroom. I'll never ever go back there again & if u have a.emergency run...
