HipNotique — Local services in Punta Gorda

Being in the heart of downtown I believe such a business reflects it’s City. HipNotique does not represent the culture and mission of my city. HipNotique’s owner was extremely rude to my family and my friend’s family while we were there for an appointment. While waiting for our appointment (fairy hair), the owner stated out loud that “children need to put their hands in the pockets and not walk around the store. She does not have the patience for “this””. What she was referring to, without any knowledge of the situation, was her idea that something of value was being knocked over by a child. Unbeknownst to her nothing was harmed. The fact was a display Knick-nack (seashell) was accidentally bumped on a display case making a noise. No harm to anything (especially merchandise) was caused. As parents, we were overseeing what our children were looking at while waiting, playing I spy and counting seashells. However as a store in the downtown you should be welcoming to families. Especially when offering a service (fairy hair) that could be for young people. HipNotique will not be getting my business in the future and I will choose to see the Fairy Hair business (which was amazing) in another...

My husband bought me a sweater for Christmas It's a nice sweater but I needed to exchange it for a different size. His accidentally threw out the receipt. I figured no big deal as I just want to exchange it. Due to working and their hours of operation, today was the first time I was able to get in. The lady first stated that I could probably exchange it minus 20% bc it was now on sale I said fine, I understood because I had no receipt (tags still on). Then she called the owner and the owner said NO EXCHANGE!! You must make ANY exchange within 14 days! My husband bought the sweater on Xmas eve. So my gf had a good point, what if he had bought it earlier in December for Xmas ? I wouldn't have been able to exchange it then be of this policy!!! Needless to say, I told the cashier to let the owner know I WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN!! And neither will my girlfriend!! We try to help the smaller shops and buy but never again!!! This boutique is fabulous & carries unique clothing, jewelry, & gifts that you won't find other places. The owner, Debi, is absolutely delightful as is everyone who works there. This is my go-to store for lovely & unusual jewelry gifts for family & friends and of course, myself. I’ve purchased some clothing there that I truly treasure.
