Never had a issue with McClendon and always made sure to go get hardware for my grandparents there. Today my husband and I were there grabbing a door knob, a piece of wood and some wax and stain. Well I go to check out this younger girl with brown hair ( 03/02/2017 first check stand at about 12:45) says as loud as she could if they tagged the wood I had. I said no I did not know that was suppose to be done. She so rudely goes well you do need to get it tagged. I said ok and who puts it on? I was inquiring if she could help us, I dont work there no one was back there I stated. she ignored me. My husband said forget it and went to put it back. She turns to me and goes its really expensive like 14.99 a foot. I said ok... Like I cant afford to buy wood because I am off work today with my hair in a pony tail and sweats on... That left a bad taste. We were excited to find the wood he would use for projects there but I will never be back to buy from you guys again. I dont know who that girl at the store is or why she has such a bad attitude and annoyed look but people like her really ruin a good expierence. I can take someone not friendly but I work hard and in customer service and the way she treated me was beyond rude and not helpful. I will spend our money else where. Hopefully this is something you will look into. I dont complain normally but this girl is beyond rude and needs to be retrained on being respectful and customer oriented. Even before I went up to be rang up she was giving me a dirty look. I will not be purchasing anymore hardware for my rental or my grandparents home when things need to be fixed. I love helping local businesses but will be sure to go elsewhere. I may have been running errands and not looking my best but I also would suspect on my day off it should not matter as a paying customer. I am still beyond mad and hurt actually. If something needs to be tagged instead of screaming about it or whatever with a bad attitude maybe in a nicer tone and getting someone to help would be useful. Not just yelling about it and then not coming up with a solution to help a paying customer. Then making a snide remark about the price if she new the price why not further assist instead of acting like I couldnt afford it. I make pretty good money as well as my husband which shouldn't matter. A hardware store is not a beauty contest. I was made to feel like I was below her. I am a full time working mother and my husband is a disabled combat vet with a small business. She needs to look beyond someones looks and do her job as a cashier and bring customer service. I hope she does not treat others that way and sadly she probably does. By the way the door knob had a missing piece thankfully we got it figured out I didnt even want to waste my time...
Read moreLast Thursday, the staff were great, awesome, wonderful, and very helpful as it was my first time being there. I needed my window screens to be replaced and each staff member I spoke with were on top of things providing the best customer care on could experience. Those ladies deserve a 5-star review.
It is unfortunate, that I had to call today to ask about my window screens. The guy in the lumbar department provided the worst customer service one could experience. He took forever to assist me with finding out when I could pick up my screens leaving the phone on the counter as I could hear every thing near by. When he came back to the phone, he tells me that he finally found my screens and that one of them was broken beyond repairable. I explained I needed my screens immediately before an expectation was to occur and that I did not want to be fined by the HOA for missing screens and/or torn screens. He then tells me that the metal frame was broken and that it was beyond repairable and that I would need to come in and pay the difference to buy a new screen. He went on to tell me that he was the only one who does the replacements and fixing and that that job was secondary as he is the only one in the lumbar department and that all lumbar orders and weekend orders would be handled first before screen fixes. Then tells me that it’s too bad if I get fined as they will take my deposit. He assumed I am a renter. I AM A HOME OWNER. As he kept talking, I became irritated and hung up on him.
Later, he called saying he had time and went on to fix my screens at no additional charge as he previously stated that it would cost more to replace the whole screen and that I could pick them up.
When I went into the store, all the cashiers were cold, distant, and did not even greet me or other customers that walked in.
As I walked to the back, the guy waved asking if I was me. I said “yeah” and he stated he knew I was me by my voice. He handed me the screens and seen that the frame was NOT broken despite him saying it was broken and I needed to pay more.
Today was the one of the worst experiences I have ever...
Read moreIt's military unappreciation weekend here. I like to visit the store when I'm in the area. That being said I get tax exempt and a military discount but not today because it's "tax free memorial day weekend". The problem is no where on the ad is there a disclaimer saying you won't get your military discount? We bought two items at the customer service place before and the lady made a huge deal about there being a limit when there was no limit on a sign or one prompted by the register! She decided we needed to do 2 seperate transactions... it was a huge fuss over nothing and it seemed she was worried we were going to buy up all of the great deal. On another visit when we decided to return all our stuff because of the rudeness and not getting a military discount the woman who returned all the items was not happy and kind of slapped things around so I knew immediately my husband must of asked her questions previously. I got a passive aggressive comment about how tax exempt things need to leave the state because the woman at the customer service desk decided to take the issue personally. Home Depot and Lowes have great customer service and great deals (better prices) so I see no reason to shop here anymore. Also, the location is not trailer friendly. The people in lumber could be much more helpful in loading and taking initative to do their job. The guy that was supposed to help us just stood there watching us load boards as he straightened out all our bad boards as we put them on the cart... we had to do this because they let a customer park in the lumber pick up and block us from being able to load. So many employees passed us and just watched us dealing with our lumber and gave us weird looks and never offered to help at all! It was so crazy I didn't even know what to say so I just...
