Pros: For the most part clean and neat areas around the building. Building was built recently and is modern. Pet friendly (even tho I donāt have pets), even has a dedicated area outside the building to bring your pets for a walk. Gym is 24/7 hours with adequate equipment included in your rent. Unless youāre a real gym Fanatic this should fit your needs Pre covid there was free coffee at the coffee bar/longue on the 2nd floor. Also free WiFi. Staff is attentive and kind. Helps you out here and there. Security - Itās as good as how we use it. You have to live on the property in order to get tap access on the doors, but at the same time people open the doors without asking if you live on the properties. Therefore, it defeats that purpose and strangers are let in without you knowing why they are coming in. I will say, I have not heard of any issues with an actual intruder causing issues.
Con: Not close to the train. Red line walk is around 20-25 minutes walk. You will have to take the bus or own a car if you canāt make the walks. Same with commuter rail.
Noise is down-right dreadful. People outside on their balconies at night or just out smoking will talk and talk and keep you up/wake you up at night. Land-scaping will come once a week at 7:40 am in the morning and just turn in their leaf blower and wake you up (I donāt know how this is even allowed).
There are also also āneighborsā next to the building who are be extra noisy. Aka a land scaping yard and also a train yard directly east and south of the building. Thirdly, thereās a personal property owner also to the East who has a really loud brap/engine car. Youāll hear it all in the summer and itās quite ridiculous the amount of times Iāve been waken up by them.
Weekends move inās and outās - If youāre planning on sleeping in on the weekends...well donāt. Thereās literally people moving in and out every week and you get woken up by those beeping trucking noises when they are backing up. Then you can hear all the carting of the equipment.
Parking - free/paid. Free if you park off the building property, but you need to pay if you want a roof or just even closer parking after your 2nd car. There are too many times where your parking spot gets taken too. They need to enforce towing more. If youāre going to pay for a parking spot and I donāt want someone else just taking my spot because a guest from some other unit decided to come and party with you on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTwo of my packages were stolen within the same week (almost $400 worth of stuff combined) & even with the Police involved management failed to address the problem.
I was waiting to receive some type of resolution for my claim but since I did not, here we are. About two weeks ago I informed the property manager that I had received notification that one of my packages had been delivered but it was not in the mail room. The courier had taken a photo of where they left it, and although they failed to leave it in the Hub lockers my box should not have gone missing. The property manager suggested I get a police report so that she could review the cameras and take better action. After obtaining a police report, she informed that there were no cameras in that area of the building, so although she reviewed them, that there was no way to see who took it.
I asked to speak to another manager within the company and she was of absolutely no help. Instead she made it about how theft has not been a problem in the past and that there was no evidence that my packages were actually stolen. As if i would go through all of this trouble and time to lie about it! Again two of my packages went missing in a week so it is a problem NOW.
Although I do not fault management for someone elseās actions, nor did I expect them to cover the costs of my stolen packages (one of which i was not refunded for by the seller or courier). I did expect them to address this new problem with the community the same way they do with every other minor inconvenience (for example dog poop) & to avoid this from...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI lived at the Watson for 2 years from Aug. 2020 - Aug. 2022. Overall, it was a nice place to live with fairly competitive rent for the area.
My biggest complaint was the noise level. Between the paper thin walls and ceilings, the train that drove by several times a day (not the fault of the Watson of course), the fire alarms that seemed to go off weekly, and the children that used the hallways as their personal playground, I never got a good nights sleep.
As far as facilities go, the common areas were generally kept clean. However, because of the number of dogs, the hallway carpet was starting to get dingy and you could smell dog urine in a lot of the outdoor areas. The gym was small, but adequate and the machines were usually in working condition. The clubroom was showing signs of wear and tear when I moved out. The trash rooms were always pretty gross.
Dana, Barbara, and Sammy are all top notch. They will assist you quickly with any of your concerns and will do all they can to make your experience as good as possible.
Ultimately, it is a good place to live if you are looking for a more "affordable" apartment as a single person or young couple, but it's not somewhere I would recommend...
