I visited the Quincy Hmart food court for the first time with my family a few weekends ago. They were still doing their grand opening promo (20% off), so my $15.99 meal became $12.79 before tax and tip.
I got the seafood soondubu stew ($15.99), and I thought it was delicious! The broth had great flavor. I though the flavor was almost as good as BCD in LA and better than Kaju in Allston. The price is also not unreasonable, and definitely a good deal with the 20% off. The banchan and rice were also good -- the kimchi was particularly tasty.
My meal was by far the best thing we tried in the food court -- we tried seafood jjamppong from Paik's (4/5), rose ddukbokki from the bunsikjip (3/5 rice cakes were bad), bbq chicken (3.5/5 weird chemical flavor), and donkatsu from Umai Katsu (3.5/5 meat was thin, not juicy, not much flavor). I would definitely go to Hanchon again if I was eating at the Quincy Hmart food court, and look forward to other options becoming available (I want to try the...
Read moreThis is the only place that doesn’t do take-out, so I recommend going during a less busy hour so that you have a place to sit. Also, bring your own containers in case you can’t finish and want to take the food to-go.
I ordered the Hot Stone Bibimbap ($22.99 + additional 20% discount with the grand opening promotion lasting until 2024/10/13), which took ten minutes to prepare. The stone bowl is shallow, so the portion size is not as massive as I initially thought when I picked up my order, but it is still definitely worth sharing. Despite the size, the price is on the higher end in my opinion, but not to the point of it being a rip-off.
Overall, the taste wasn’t bad, but I’ve had better bibimbap. The rice does crisp up nicely if you’re patient enough to wait until it stops sizzling, but it was bland and too watery, and the gochujang wasn’t that spicy. I also wish this came with more bulgogi, as that was the tastiest part. My rating is closer to a 3.5, but I’ll...
Read moreThis was my first time eating here. I came here today for lunch on a Wednesday at 12 PM with my family and it was still very busy but the service was quick! The bibimbap tasted great. The rice had a nice crisp at the bottom and ingredients tasted fresh. The main meal comes with side dishes. Their food is worth the price since the portion sizes are huge. I just had the leftovers for dinner and still have some portions left for another meal! I saw a Yelp review that said they don’t provide takeout containers, so I highly recommend bringing your own takeout container in case you...
