Update: Honestly, management could care less about the residents. I know some of what's going on here is out of their hands, but the whole thing is a mismanaged mess. Apts are crappily built, horrible appliances, sound proofing is non-existent, management copy-and-pastes vague garbage from corporate. Looking forward to my balcony being taken away in the summer by this crazy construction zone that is where I live now...that's sarcasm. I don't know too many happy residents currently.
Old, but still is applicable: It's currently 9am and I am sitting here listening to the following: plane traffic (this is definitely under a common approach to Logan), cop motorcycle training in the parking lot (apparently routine occurrence that goes on for weeks at a time with motor cycles flying back and forth, which is very loud, for hours and days upon end), construction on my balcony (which, admittedly, is temporary) and the trash being collected below my apartment (usually happens in the morning, and on the weekends too). Also, at 6:30 this morning there was food delivery right below my apt with the backing up alarm and all (this happens several times a week). These are just what I am hearing right now, though I could list other noise nuisances, too.
It must be known to anyone thinking about living here that the noise level is, at times, ridiculous, especially if you work from home. Make sure you have a noise-cancellation machine. Thankfully, one thing that I cannot hear are my neighbors below and to the sides of me, though you can completely hear through the front door in both directions like it's not even there (door slamming, people talking; and I can hear what's going on in each apartment as I walk by in the hall). It's a little disconcerting that conversations I have with my partner could be heard from someone walking by in the hallway. The insulation to sound from the outside is also deplorable, especially considering all the noise that goes on.
The management team, sadly, does not have control over many of these items, but it still doesn't make living here any easier. They do their best (sort of) with what has been given to them, but we chose to live this far from the city for QUIET. It's not all thorns living here (hence three stars), but the noise is overbearing all the good that this...
Read moreMy original review was posted in fall 2022. Here are updates as of 2/26/2024:
-I’ve dealt with an ongoing mold issue in my bathroom for several months, and each time maintenance has done the bare minimum to address it so it keeps growing back. It’s disgusting and poses health concerns. I’ve attached pictures of my bathroom drywall after “repairs” for reference. There’s an ongoing lawsuit against Meriel because of mold infestation throughout the complex that has been causing other tenants health issues. I’ve also had a gnat infestation in my bathroom drains for over a year that spread throughout my apartment. I contacted maintenance several times and was told last time that pest control would come weekly to treat it until it was resolved, but no one ever came (I work from home every day so I’m sure of this). -The sidings of both the north and south building have had to be completely removed because of how poorly they were constructed, so construction has been ongoing (and will continue) for months. If you work remotely you’ll have to listen to it the entire work day. -The noise issues with the tenant who lives above me never improved, and management has continually brushed it off since I moved here. I didn’t say anything for over a year because I knew they wouldn’t do anything. I reached my breaking point last week when the person above me was stomping so loudly in the middle of the night that both of my crutches fell directly on top of my fractured knee. -My garage door opener broke a few months ago on a Friday night, so I tried contacting management Saturday morning to get it replaced since I needed to run errands/go to appointments. I went down in person on Saturday multiple times during their office hours, and no one was there each time I tried. They ignored my calls and emails until I went to the office again the following Monday afternoon, and they brushed it off and said I should’ve called maintenance.
I’ve lived in multiple apartments and have never had issues to this degree. I’m looking forward to my lease...
Read moreMy wife and I lived here for a year after moving from the West Coast and have really nothing but positive things to say. The management team is extraordinarily great compared to complexes I’ve lived in (even other “luxury” buildings). They’re friendly, very prompt to answer/address questions, and definitely committed to resolving issues, of which there were very few. Same goes for maintenance staff, all great guys who’re happy to help. We had an after hours issue with our heater in the middle of January (during a Pats playoff game) and they still came over really quickly and made sure everything worked, and didn’t complain once.
The dog washing station was my favorite amenity! Location is a bit isolated, but if you’re looking for relatively quiet setup with good covered parking this is definitely a good call. Very high quality workout rooms in both buildings with good equipment that are well maintained.
The market is awesome too. Super convenient when you need something quick.
The events the buildings does are actually pretty fun (and I’m usually not super into that sort of thing). Residents are nice and friendly for the most part and community is very dog friendly. Our Newfie swam in Squantum Bay (5-7 min walk) like 3-4 days a week and we could wash her off so easily.
Only slight negative is that the price was a bit high, particularly on the 2nd lease they offered. On an absolute basis it’s not crazy expensive, but for being further out from the city I thought it was slightly expensive. We ended up moving into South Boston for ~ the same price as our first lease.
The commute into Boston by car is not as great as it seems. There’s one bridge getting out of Neponset area that can take up to 30 min to get through .3 miles or so making the whole commute close to 60 min to get into the city if you leave between 7-8:30am. Definitely take the shuttle to the Red Line! Or take the ferry in the summer,...
