I was taken here for a surprise birthday dinner. It was basically empty inside at sunset on a Wednesday in early September. It was like we had the place to ourselves- very romantic. It is a perfect place/area to spend a a few hours eating, drinking and strolling.
Location- right in the harbor of marina bay surrounded by other restaurants, breweries and shops. A great place to get to early to have a walk about (we popped into break rock brewery beforehand, sat outside and took a stroll to the end of the pier. As the sunset and it got a little chilly we went to Siros and had dinner, afterwards taking a stroll to the navy park and the brightly lit gazebo to digest and take some photos.)
Atmosphere- inside has more of a classy vibe and outside on the boardwalk is more casual. We reserved a table inside by the windows and were able to watch the sun set over the harbor. It is quieter inside (muffles more of the noise from all the people and airplanes outside). This place would be good for a date, friends, and families (thought most families with kids sat outside on the deck). There is a nice bay on the inside with kind of retro vibes. (This is the only place we saw other people inside on our date).
Service- our server was friendly and attentive and did not rush us at all. She asked when we would like our courses to come out and everything arrived just when it should.
Food- absolutely everything I ate was wonderful. I can recommend the clam chowder (-la cup is as big as you’d expect- and it had plenty of clam and potato), Caesar salad (nice and big), shrimp cocktail (biggest shrimp ever with a nice crunch though only four), and the pan seared scallops on risotto (amazing). I tried his chicken Parmesan on rigatoni and I personally was not impressed but he seemed to like it well enough! He loved his rum punch, and we both enjoyed a Chianti, however I went on a limb and tried the hot and dirty martini- it packed a heck of a punch but I found myself thinking it would be much better as a Bloody Mary (it is literally vodka, olive juice and tobacco). It was very spicy lol. We split the chocolate brownie cake with gelato and it was the best chocolate cake I’ve had in a long time. Just a big old slice of almost foot brownie with strawberries, whipped cream and vanilla gelato.
Parking- there is a large free lot and easy walk away at the end of the main road (near the convenience store). There are also some smaller lots and...
Read moreVery disappointed. One of the worst experiences I have had at a restaurant. And it’s sad to say as I’ve been here one other time and it was a good experience which is why I came back to show my friend. Came in earlier today with my friend and we ordered a clam chowder, two drinks, calamari, and two salads. The calamari and chowder were good. One of the drinks was undrinkable. As we chatted for an hour and a half, we started wondering where our salads were so we checked in with the server who had no idea. We end up finding out that the ticket got lost in the kitchen and the salads were never made. It’s now past 9pm and we have yet to eat dinner. The server comes back and says “sorry, I went ahead and removed them off your bill as it looks like you don’t want them anymore anyway.” THANK YOU FOR REMOVING THE ITEMS OFF THE BILL THAT WE NEVER RECEIVED. VERY GENEROUS OF YOU. We are in a rush at this point so we mentioned this to the manager and he says there is nothing that can be done and to come back again and he will give us a free round of drinks and an appetizer. I appreciate this, but still, we ended up not eating as the server didn’t check in on us at all the 2.5 hours we were there and, to be honest, I am not interested in returning and giving you more money after this. Also, we never got our water refilled. And the calamari we had, I wanted to box it. However it was taken off the table without us...
Read moreToday at 2:30pm I came to Siros to have dinner with my husband ( it was his Birthday) and my son who was visiting ( military) haven’t seen in a while! I understand you don’t open til 3 pm after I showed. My family waited patiently and the chubby manager knew we were there . We were respectful and polite. Not aggressive and pushy. All these other people come and sit themselves ( rude of them) as the manager stated they weren’t open yet. I still stood out and respected boundaries! As 3 pm came the manager ignored my family and helped everyone else. Another polite thinner manager acknowledged us. I was thankful for that. I felt so degraded I didn’t even order food I was so upset. I just didn’t want to ruin my husband’s bday or my son’s visit! I was the white woman with a diverse family. Everyone but us was taken care of while we were there way before everyone. Everyone else was greeted and acknowledged. My heart sank ! We have lived and volunteered in Quincy since 1996. We support all Local businesses! That short chubby manager should be ashamed. I am a manager of a business and never ever would make anyone feel this way. Hours later my heart still hurts over this. Never ever would I step foot again! No other places at Marina treated us like this ! The food portion wouldn’t have even feed...
