I've had many positive experiences at MicroCenter. The "worst" has been "neutral" (business as usual) treatment by a tired checkout clerk... Which is obviously still GREAT by modern Customer Service standards.
It seems that Microcenter hires good people who know their stuff, and actually CARE about their jobs and often go Above And Beyond Their Call Of Duty to make sure customers are taken care of. Basically OPPOSITE of Walmart.
I have had several good experiences at MicroCenter... here is my most recent: a PC I bought from there 2 years prior had gone bad. I could not find my Proof Of Purchase, but I went to the store anyway. The service staff member who saw to me was pleasant, affable, and had a sense of humor. He said no problem, took my ID, and searched for my purchase. It took a few tries, but he found it. Not once did he have a "I don't want to be here" look on his face. Not once was he rude or act like I was bothering him (the standard behavior by almost all Walmart staff). He then told me I was out of warranty... But he still did a basic troubleshoot exercise, and we discovered that it was my PC's power supply that died. I thanked him profusely.
In summary, I've had consistently good customer experiences at this Microcenter, and I think...
Read moreA weekend trip to Microcenter as I teach my son how he can troubleshoot and fix cooling issues on his project pc that he build on his own. We also went to look around and get harresed by the manager while in line bc we were in the online pickup line. The sign that states online pickup is back near the entrance and easily missed when arriveing at cheakout fromnother isles. We also got to enjoy listening to sales guys tell customers it's cheaper to buy a pc then build and hav3 him go on to tell us how foolish building was. Back to the manager, who apparently was having a bad day and forgot how to talk to customers. Id ask Microcenter to pass on to management many of its shoppers like myself have options and I dont appreciate being spoken to in this fashion when I sat in traffic that took me 45 mins to reach a store to be yelled at when trying to checkout. I could have avoided the traffic and aggravation by buying from any other online company but chose to shop at Microcenter. I'm willing to put this negative experience aside for now, but if it happens again, I will eliminate the possibility of a...
Read moreThis place is the best. Usually the staff on the floor are super helpful. Every now and then you'll get an employee who is not so great with people, or social skills - I recently visited to buy filament for a new 3D printer, and when I asked about the difference in PLA vs tough PLA, and PLA+, I was asked point blank if I knew how ice cream is made? The employee just stared at me when I told him, no, I'm not terribly familiar with how ice cream is made. I thought he was joking, but he was not. After a very uncomfortable silence with no facial expressions at all, he then gave a very monotone and unhelpful comparison between ice cream and PLA. It was unhelpful because, like I already told him, I'm not really sure how ice cream is made, so the answer didn't make a lot of sense to me. But the next person I asked was super helpful, friendly, and was very knowledgeable about the difference in filament types. Noteworthy, he also didn't ask me questions like, if I knew how ice cream is made. So in the end, I was able to get the info I needed to make a...
