Aldi has an old fashioned style (original in Raleigh NC) at this location & some other locations with a very different layout. Personnel are different; but, there to help you (busy refreshing shelves while you shop). You will need to bring your own bag, buy bags from them or feel free to use empty boxes you may find on the shelves. ALSO, TAKE A QUARTER; that is if you want to rent a card. If you rent a card, the quarter is refunded when you place your cart at the collection area. Watch others to see how ;)
I prefer the newer layout (similar to Lidl's and I prefer Aldi to Lidl: YMMV). Personnel are different and a few prices. Mostly ALDI guidelines.
I don't like tons of choices when shopping ! Aldi meets my needs for most of my grocery needs and on occassion, I have picked up something from their (not so grocery oriented & limited item exposure) specials aisle. I am one of those people that isn't so status quo (a bit Asperger'd) and a lot Veganized. I like produce, a little mild and salmon each day. In these areas, Aldi suffices for me. If you are status quo and love loads of sizes and brands, Aldi just isn't for you; however, you could still find some items that will keep a few bucks in your bank, where they belong. Read moreThe place to go if you pay attention to the ingredients in your food purchases and you like saving money. No card, etc. needed. Fresh produce prices are hard to beat. Ex: $.99 for fresh blackberries.
Great imported products of high quality, especially many German products at amazing prices. This includes beers and wines, foreign and domestic. They have obviously teamed with American producers for fresh American versions of their offerings. For those of you who do not know, this is the other arm of the company that owns "Trader Joe's". Here it is totally self help, except for the check out.
This is NOT the place for sauntering around and eating "free" samples. It is more like your off site pantry. This store is older and smaller than the one on New...
Read moreMy daughter said this Aldi gave her bad vibes. We shopped here a couple weeks ago and the cashier was just going on about how that manager was a creep and only helps the ladies. I chucked it up to him having a bad day. We all have them. The same diva of a person had the worst condescending attitude this past weekend. Like he took "fake it til you make it" to a whole new level. I hate my job too but I don't take it out on other people. I was smiley and pleasant, he seemed to just hate being there. But I don't blame him. There was a line out the door and he was the only one ringing people out. Management should probably be less creepy and more helpful to their employees and not just the women...
