I’m sharing this review to reflect my personal experience at Maraki Skin, which unfortunately did not meet my expectations.

I originally sought treatment for melasma. At no point did I believe I was signing up for an acne-focused program, although the provider later stated I was enrolled in her “Acne Bootcamp.” I was never given a clear explanation of this shift in focus, and I felt misled as the treatments did not appear to improve my melasma, which was my main concern.

After paying in full for a 3-month package, I had to cancel one appointment due to illness. I expected this to be covered under the package I paid for, but I was later told I had to pay again to reschedule, which I found frustrating. When I attempted to discuss this, the conversation quickly turned unprofessional and disrespectful.

What concerned me most was that a close-up image of my face—clearly showing my melasma—was posted on the business’s public Instagram account as an example of treating dark spots. This happened even though the provider later told me she is not licensed to treat melasma. I was uncomfortable with my image being used for advertising without my clear consent, and the post was removed only after I brought it up.
