The entire experience was what one might compare to shopping at a grocery store.
The isles contained a variety of well organized foods and goods that lined up precisely with the signage above.
I came specifically looking for juice, and as expected this could be found directly under the "juice" section, though inconveniently it was at the opposite end of the isle I started at.
I was also able to acquire chips from the chips section, and dip nearby. A very sensible placement and I commend the store on this decision.
All of this leads to the unfortunate end of my review wherein I must lambast the experience.
Checking out was a trying experience wherein no less than two of the items my friend was purchasing did not scan or ring up properly. Frustrated, overwhelmed, and fussy like a baby, he proceeded to ask for the assistance of store employees. Two responded (a little bit of wasted labor, but I personally appreciated the solidarity), and were able to solve the issue at hand. My friend then sheepishly attempted to cope with the embarrassing situation through a comment designed to make light of the situation. A "dad joke" about getting the offending watermelon for free.
To my horror and absolute dismay I watched powerless as they sarcastically disparaged his joke. He, on the verge of childlike tears, choked back a sob. The shock prevented me from intervention, and we were forced to finish the shopping experience in quiet mourning for his dignity.
Four out of five stars. I won't be back, because I don't live here....
Read moreThis Food Lion location needs help! One of their display coolers smelled so bad it almost felt hazardous to be in there breathing much less shopping for food. The odor was overwhelming. The layout of the store is unlike any of the other locations and NOT in a good way. Then at the register, the lady was slamming my items into bags without doubling them for heavy items and even placed a raw chicken package with my deli cheese, I had to redirect her to not mix the two. But clearly, she was paying attention to the man before me whose card kept declining while trying to purchase $9 worth of soda. So, I spent about 10 minutes and watched 3 associates try to help him, at which point he leaves and says he will be back. He returns shortly thereafter while the cashier was scanning my order, and upon noticing him, she literally starts slamming more of my items and rushes through to get back to helping him. Maybe she liked him, I don't know, but what I do know is that it will be my very LAST time at that Food...
Read moreWent to food lion #584 and was treated very nasty. The Manager Asia was very nasty to the customer in front of me as well when it was my turn. I was waiting in line to get a $500oney order. I usually come to this food line considering it was in a better part of town. However was met with the rudeness after being told customer service was closed due to shift change. When asked how long she would open back up, because I was willing to wait ,she told me she doesn't know.I told her she was losing money because I wanted a $500oney order. She looked at me rudely and said Ok. When I asked her ,her name she proudly displayed her name badge that said Asia with mgr title. I walked away feeling embarrassed and angry. I'm not sure why she was so nasty, perhaps she was annoyed that I needed her assistance. . . We the consumer do not deserve this type of treatment, when spending our hard...
