Update Clarifying a misleading reply from “Solis Hills (Owner)” (see their reply below my review)
I am updating this review to address a misrepresentation in the public response posted by "Solis Hills (Owner)". Contrary to what they claimed, my concerns were NOT escalated to their regional manager by the on-site team. In fact, after weeks of ignored emails and broken follow-through from the property manager, we had to escalate the issue ourselves by contacting Kane Realty directly. The implication that they recognized the severity of our concerns and took initiative to escalate them to their regional manager is simply inaccurate, and it underscores the pattern of deflection that has characterized much of our experience here. I’ve attached a new video from June 30, 2025 that shows the noise/vibration is very much ongoing.
PLEASE NOTE! Due to character limits, I’ve edited the original review. Screenshots of the full original version (the one management responded to) are attached below.
I reported this issue in late December 2024. More than six months later, it’s still not resolved. I’ve recorded the noise, coordinated with maintenance and HVAC contractors, and kept following up, even when communication from management repeatedly broke down. The onsite maintenance staff were respectful and tried their best but the problem seems structural, possibly tied to how the rooftop HVAC units were installed without sufficient vibration isolation.
I visited other units, hoping to transfer, but found the same disturbing hum in multiple apartments including on different floors. That’s when I realized this wasn’t an isolated issue, and staying or moving within the complex wouldn’t fix it.
The physical and mental toll has been real. Six months of sleep disruption, stress, and anxiety. Hoping to leave without penalty, I asked to be released from my lease. Instead, I was offered a Non-Disclosure Agreement that would have prevented me from discussing the problem with anyone including friends or healthcare providers and required me to destroy all documentation. The language was broad and, frankly, alarming. It made me question whether the goal was to fix the problem or simply to contain it.
I held off writing this for months, giving management every chance to address the issue. But I now believe others deserve to know. If you’re considering living here, be aware that serious mechanical noise and vibration may be part of your experience and that raising concerns may not lead to a meaningful solution.
I am speaking only for myself, but I know I am not alone. This is not about blame, it’s about transparency and safety. If peace of mind, rest, and your health matter to you, think carefully before signing a lease at Solis Hills.
Note: Only one video can be uploaded. See link below for more recordings:...
Read moreAfter living here for one year I would not recommend living at Solis Hills.
The units and amenities are beautiful, and for that they get one star. Raleigh is a fully developed city and the luxury of this complex is comparable to almost every other apartment complex in the area.
The issues I’ve had here primarily have to do with my safety and the lack of responsiveness from the employees that operate this complex. Keeping in mind, this was a brand new place when I first moved in so I understand some growing pains, however, for the reasons below I would not recommend this property: Parking lot lighting. Although this issue was fixed, I had to submit multiple maintenance tickets and it wasn’t addressed until months later. Again, I understand it’s the electric company’s issue- but hearing no response from the leasing office is frustrating and feels like concerns are ignored. Locks. I saw this addressed in another review, I again understand there can be technical difficulties, but the issue I have is: if an entire community is having the same issue why wouldn’t they address it to all tenants via email? Why was I in charge of addressing the issue with the lock company and responsible to provide answers while the management team had no involvement in the resolution? I was locked out of my building multiple times with little to no help from the leasing office and had to wait for someone to come outside to hold the doors. Most importantly safety. Generally speaking this is a very safe neighborhood, however, when there is crime occurring in the building and the authorities are involved, I believe the leasing office should address concerns raised, but instead I am repeatedly ignored.
Overall, it is a beautiful property, but for the amount we pay to rent and the lack of communication from management I would not recommend...

I currently live at Solis Hills, and I can say - with the raw conviction of someone running on months of sleep deprivation and rooftop-induced tinnitus - that this is, without exaggeration, the worst place I have ever lived.
The building is a masterpiece of cheap construction. Even if you're not on the top floor like I am, prepare to hear your upstairs neighbors tiptoe like elephants and drag chairs like they’re summoning demons. Walls? Thin. Floors? Thinner. Ceiling? A speaker system for roof vibrations set to "earthquake."
Speaking of the roof—ever tried sleeping through a low-frequency industrial hum that makes your body vibrate from the inside out? I have. For months. It's like living in a malfunctioning airlock. The noise is so relentless and unnatural, it starts to feel personal. Solis Hills doesn’t have a rooftop - it has a punishment device.
But the most difficult part isn’t even the building. It’s the management. Communications frequently go unanswered. Promises are made and not kept. Tenants are told they can leave early - but only if they agree to sign a non-disclosure agreement that, weeks later, still hasn’t materialized. Meanwhile, we wait. And wait.
Solis Hills has all the ambience of a white-collar prison, but with higher rent and worse sleep. It’s a place where problems linger for months, and management’s priority appears to be silence over solutions.
Life here has become genuinely miserable. I wouldn’t recommend this experience to anyone—not friends, not enemies, not even people who talk during movies.
Avoid this place like your health depends on it. Because, honestly, it might.
Attached are photos of the rooftop AC units, and readings of noise and vibration levels. Take a look and judge...
