I stopped by Simply Crêpes around 10:45 AM for a solo brunch. The space was beautiful—open, bright, and inviting. The music was a really nice touch too (I heard Givēon and Zayn), and it created a calm, feel-good vibe. Whether you’re brunching alone, on a date, or with friends or family, the environment is welcoming and warm.
I sat at the bar since there wasn’t a wait, and while I appreciated the quick seating, the service at the bar was slow and not very attentive. It took a while before I was greeted or able to order. Water wasn’t offered—I had to ask. And once I ordered, there weren’t really any check-ins until halfway through the meal. Even then, the bartender only asked about the food, not the drink he made earlier. That part stood out to me because I had some concerns about the chai latte, but it never came up.
🥤 Chai Tea Latte ($6.50 – Hot Vanilla)
The flavor was honestly amazing—one of the best-tasting chai lattes I’ve had. But unfortunately, the presentation really took away from it. It was served in a very small glass, and half the drink was foam. I thought maybe that was just their style until I looked up photos from other reviews and realized it wasn’t. By then, I had already drunk some of it, and it felt awkward to bring it up. Still, for $6.50, it was disappointing to feel like I barely got a full drink.
🍓 Simply Strawberry Crepes ($16)
These were the highlight of the meal. Sweet, fresh, and well-balanced. The crepe itself was soft and delicate, and the presentation was beautiful. I’d absolutely get them again.
🍳 Create Your Own Omelet ($12 + $4 for Andouille Sausage)
The egg texture was light and fluffy, and the cheddar and avocado were nice additions. But the andouille sausage—an added $4 charge—was underwhelming. There were only a few bits scattered in, and they were dry and overcooked. I definitely expected more substance and care for the extra cost. It didn’t ruin the dish, but it made the price feel a little hard to justify.
🧾 Overall Experience
My total came out to just under $50 with tax and tip. I usually enjoy tipping well, especially knowing how hard service work can be, but I left feeling like the service I received didn’t match the price I paid. That’s disappointing, especially when you’re dining in and trying to support a place in good faith.
💭 Would I come back?
Yes—but not to this location. The crepes were excellent, and I’d love to try more of their menu. But next time, I’d probably order through delivery or try their other location. I think this specific experience may have been affected by sitting at the bar, where service is less consistent and follow-through was lacking.
I do believe this place has a lot of potential, and maybe my experience isn’t what others go through. But if you decide to dine in, I’d recommend grabbing a table instead of sitting at the bar, just to ensure you get the full experience...
Read moreThis the first time that my husband and I visited this restaurant. It was a Sunday afternoon, so knowing it would probably be busy, we made a reservation for 1:30p. As expected, it was busy. We got there early and were seated just a few minutes after 1:30p. Our waitress, Lana, was very nice and attentive. She was one bright spot during our experience. We started with the biscuits and jam which were average and luke warm. My husband had a raspberry mimosa and I had peach...both were good..nice ratio of champagne to juce. I also had a chai latte which was very tasty. My husband had a made to order omelet and the crispy red potatoes. He enjoyed both. I had the maple sausage stackers crepe. It only had two small sausage patties and the crepes were kind of undercooked, but the Applewood bacon cream sauce was very tasty. I also got the Brussel sprouts. They were very good but sadly came out cold, which was really disappointing. I didn't send them back because I was afraid it would take a long time to get them back which I'll get to later. We also ordered the beignets to go. They were light, airy and delicious. Unfortunately, getting food out in a timely fashion was where this establishment failed. I looked around and saw people who had been seated well before us with just their drinks. It took over an hour for our entrees to come out. The reason given was that the kitchen was backed up. Our bill before tip was over $100 which is a lot for breakfast food and slow service. I don't know if we will visit again...maybe a weekday...
Read moreCharming, cozy restaurant, VERY friendly people. I came here because I saw that they have SO MANY non-crepe options, lol. I don't like crepes for breakfast (maybe dessert!), but I love a charming restaurant.
We made a reservation and were seated immediately. Everybody was very friendly. Restrooms were clean... but I don't think they lock properly.
We waited a very long time for our food. Half the table got their food after maybe 45 minutes, and the other half got their food after everyone else had already finished. But they were very communicative about this. The expo (or manager?) let us know that it was taking a bit as they're still getting their footing as a new restaurant. They offered us complimentary sides for the wait and comp'd some of our meal.
Honestly, the way they showed us that they hadn't forgotten about us and were trying to take care of us was really nice. I also knew going in that the restaurant is brand new, but the customer service was top-notch.
Also, the food menu looks a little over priced, but the servings were massive so it was definitely fair. The beignets were delicious too. All of our main meals were good, except the potatoes were very salty and the fruit was a little too overpriced. Also, the drinks are definitely too expensive.
Regardless, I live like five minutes from here and see myself coming back for more. A little indulgence...
