I’d like to share my bad experience with this shop. I got better things to do, but I’ll take 20 min of my time to try to explain short as possible, but in reality it was many little bad details. Before I drop the car to them for engine rebuild, Billy told me it would take max 3 months and car would be ready. TOOK 2 YEARS. all this time he kept lying that is waiting for parts etc, no phone answer, no emails, no voicemails. And sometime if I got lucky he will answer and once he notices it’s me he would come up with: hey I’m busy I’m with a customer but I call you in 5 minutes. And a month later desperately after keep calling once a week for update's, he will answer occasionally and kept saying another 2-3 weeks and car will be ready. He left me struggling without car 2 years. Billy tells Only lies, he is an expert . Got sick of all this time almost 1.5 year, and went to them without telling them. Car was sitting outside untouched. So after I picked it up, got it home, and moisture had accumulated inside everywhere. One plastic panel that covers the seat rail was missing, turbo heat shield missing, bolt wheels socket etc. Then started to fix some issues around car like, missing bolts on the crank pulleys, they were completely loosened and tread shredded because they wasn’t tight enough etc. Also powers steering pulley same, missing bolt and rest of them completely loose. Then drove little bit and I noticed a grounding sounds from transmission. Before Pulled trans I noticed that is missing 3 bolts that holds trans together with engine!!! and flywheel bolts the same loose, tread shredded and one bolt missing. Because unbalanced flywheel it did start digging or touching the trans bellhousing. Also one tinny power cord from the ECU was cut. After many hours I find the issue because I couldn’t start the car. Now im afraid how engine was assembled, I suppose to get new pistons, rods, bearings etc. Who knows what’s inside and how good was assembled. I haven’t done a compression test yet but I will and I’m allready afraid of the results. I would not trust whatever the reviews says about them and I’m very disappointed. I won’t trust them and highly suggest avoid them at any cost. For your concern I’ll upload some pictures to prove their magical mechanical skills. Where do I even begin. I had recently purchased a Volkswagen R32 be it not the cleanest example. Having previously spoken to William Amberg (Billy) i knew i wanted to take my car to them to sort out all the bad. I told Billy I wanted a diagnostic of everything wrong with the car so he could begin work on it. Paid for the diag However I needed the car that weekend so I couldn’t leave it there after the diagnostic was complete I picked it up for two days with intentions on bringing it back the following Tuesday. I trusted the place with an engine build … less than 20,000 miles later on the engine and it’s burning through a quart of oil in 300 miles (no oil leaks) so I’ve lost money and nerves / experienced more stress than I would’ve ever imagined. Words cannot describe how upset, sad and disappointed I am at this time. Updated with a photo of the end result of the custom engine build. I am now without a car. It got progressively worse at burning oil every 200 miles then every 100 miles until the vehicle got to be non functional.
