I'm very disappointed in the service today despite having good reviews. I was confirmed for my move-in day 2 days prior and the associate was very kind and did mention she wouldn't be there the day I arrived. I arrived this morning in my rented truck and saw the sign on the door that they would be open during usual business hours today, however, everything looked dark with nobody inside. After giving the office benefit of the doubt that they had stepped away temporarily, I patiently waited. After 20 minutes or so I called customer service and they attempted twice to reach the facility with no answer (I also left a voice message as well). Since I purposely waited to sign my documents in-person, I had to do it on my phone. It then gave me the access code but didn't work. So again, I had to call customer service to troubleshoot the problem and I found out the manager was sick and called out without a replacement. She said there was an issue with the gate code and was on the phone with the company to fix that so I stayed on the line and waited. Eventually, after more than an hour since I arrived, I got in through the gate and lost signal when I got up to my designated unit. I once again had to call customer service because the unit I was assigned did not have a lock/keypad. Since there is no service in the unit, luckily I had someone with me who went up and down to check which units actually had the green lock/keypad for them to check if it was the correct size and vacancy. Finally, after searching and lots of back and forths, a unit was open and I was able to get in, however, there was no light source that worked so moving in the dark was just the cherry on top.
Overall, very terrible experience in many ways from beginning to end and extremely unprofessional not having accountability for your business leaving customers to figure things out on their own.

I have been paying for a 10x10 climate controlled unit to store my belongings for the last 12 years. Not only has the rent gone up between $30-$80 a month the last 12 years, when I went to the facility to retrieve something I found about 2/3 of my belongings covered in mold (pretty much everything that wasn’t stored in plastic containers)
The girl in the office that day (she was very nice, I will say that) took some photos and filed an incident report. The manager then called me the following Monday and basically informed me that CubeSmart is not responsible for damaged property, to contact the insurance. After a week of back and forth with the insurance company (Great American, which was the company CubeSmart suggested when we began our rental in 2012) they claim that the policy doesn’t cover any type of water damage.
So I am basically screwed out of 12 years of payments (I started at $95 in 2012 and up until I termed my rental this week, I was paying $442 a month. Do the math, it’s over 5k, and that’s just for this year!) as well as the cost for all of my furniture and other ruined items I had to throw away. I could have just stored my belongings in my garage and ruined them for free.
There is definitely a damp musty feeling in the building that claims to be “climate controlled” as well as mildew forming on the outer locks on multiple units near mine, as the pictures below show. I had brought this to the attention of an employee a few years back but she claimed the moisture was from the carpets being cleaned and the mold was “just dust”. Opened up a 10x10 unit this past Wednesday (6/24/25). Reserved the unit over the phone using the customer service phone number. They were extremely helpful!
Later in the day went to the office to complete the transaction. What an amazing experience. Shaniqiuoa was a gem. Amazing personality and beyond helpful and accommodating. She turned a difficult day into a very satisfying experience. My father-in-law passed the day prior and my nephew and I had to unload is apartment at assisted living. It was a blistering hot day. The paperwork process was completed quickly and Shaniqiuoa first took us to see the unit and explained everything very clearly.
Facility is clean and very well kept. Highly recommend.
My nephew opened a unit up about 18 months prior when he moved up from Florida. When we walked into the office this past week Shaniqiuoa not only remembered him but also that he had moved up from Florida. No joke!
