It took me a lot of time to get over the anger I had towards Haggerty's Musicworks of Rapid City, South Dakota, to finish this review.

I went to Haggerty's for some guitar strings. As always, I ended up spending more than just on strings. I tried out the lowest-cost Gibson Les Paul and liked it. I then tried out a Vox AC 30 amp to go with it. I decided to buy both of them "if I could afford it." I tried buying the guitar and amp with my bank card, but it was not approved. Then the Haggerty's store salesman/limo services company owner suggested that I use their "in-house" financing. So, I financed the Vox amp. I took it home, have been using it since, and paid off the loan in half the time.

When it was time to buy the Gibson Les Paul, I told the Haggerty's store salesman/limo services company owner repeatedly that I could "only" buy the Gibson Les Paul if it was $100 a month payments. So I took the Les Paul home. A month later, I went to Haggerty's for some picks or something. They told me I was due for a $250 payment for the Gibson Les Paul. I told them that I agreed to buy the Gibson only if I could make $100 a month payments. ANGER. So I returned the Les Paul, and they refused to give me back my deposit. I felt so much anger, anger, and more anger.

Bait & Switch. I buy a Gibson Les Paul for $100 a month payments and get charged $250 a month payments.

Considering all the $10,000, $20,000, and $30,000 guitars in Haggerty's Musicworks store of Rapid City South Dakota did Haggerty's have to rip off a senior on Social Security fixed income? I think not.

Would have given 5 stars but there only seems to be one sales person working there that is knowledgeable about drums. Chris doesn't know much about drums but has gone out of his way to find information and get answers to my questions and was really great to deal with. The one person that really knows drums is very generous with his time. I don't remember his name unfortunately, but he is very willing to go into great detail to help you make a decision, and open packaging to help you pick the right hi hat stand for you. Being new to drums I had a question about what drum sticks I should use. He spent half an hour going over the types of drum sticks that are available, the best ones for a beginner, different styles of grip, and technique for building speed. Amazing! If I get a salesperson that isn't one of those two you can watch their eyes glaze over in disinterest. I went in 06/14/ to see if they could order me a specific drum stool the sales person person did look and see if they could get it, and tell me he would have to ask Brian on Monday to see if he could order it, before nudging me out the door as he was excited about anl guitar that another sales person had. I drove from Chadron NE, on a Saturday to Haggerty's Musicworks to purchase my very first bass guitar. I was immediately asked if I needed help upon walking into the store. Wanting to just look around on my own, I declined help at that moment. Once I had stopped and put my eye on the instrument I would eventually take home, I was approached again by Bruce who helped get the guitar down and let me put my hands on it to play. Bring brand new to bass guitar, I wasn't made to feel bad for lack of knowledge and instead educated me on the different models they had available and what made them unique. I was excited to learn that the bass I had picked outs quality would last me my playing career if taken care of, and was one of the more affordable of the nicer bass guitars they had available. It wasn't long before my loan was approved and I was the brand new owner of a Fender Jazz Bass Player Plus Guitar. Since then I've played and practiced ferverently for the chance to perform with some local ensembles.
