My review is of the entire experience at Sear Steakhouse. To start, the decor looks great (star for this). We arrived and were sat quickly and asked what we would like to drink and were served our waters and iced tea. Moments later we were asked if we wanted appetizers, but hadn't even opened the menus yet. After a few minutes, we were asked again and we asked for another minute...on 3rd attempt, we ordered our meals, as we had finally had a couple minutes to read it. Note on the menu, it's simple with limited options, but enough of a variety to satisfy most. Most of us ordered the small rib eye with the asparagus side and a salad. The salads were brought out first. Without adequate time to finish the salads, the main dishes were coming out. A+ on speed, but it's difficult to enjoy the experience when you feel like you're being rushed out the door. The steaks came sitting on top of a little bed of mashed potato (which was good). The asparagus spears (about 5 or 6 of them) were served on a separate small plate. The steaks weren't cooked to the right temp (all were ordered med-rare) and about 1/4 of the steak was huge fatty pieces. The steak didn't seem seared and was a strange texture, like pull-apart like. It didn't taste horrible, but wasn't anything to talk about. The asparagus was overcooked and the ends needed trimming because they were tough. The food, when served, wasn't hot. Clearing tables is difficult for the servers because the plates don't really have sides on them and silverware falls off. An upgrade needs to be made here in serving ware. We did not order dessert so the bill came immediately after we were done. We stayed to talk and nobody ever came back again to bring us water or check on us. It's like we weren't there. The restaurant was not full either. The final and most disturbing part is that I felt sick middle of the night and woke up with a stomach ache...and have been on the toilet all day sick. I would not recommend this restaurant and we won't be eating there again unfortunately, as we were excited to try it. Dakotah's is a much better place to go for steaks. PS. Miss the rib tips...
Read moreOk so we have another Steakhouse to go with the other 3 that we already have and no I do not count places like Perkins or Applebee's for steak places! This place will rank right along with Longhorn, Dakota, and Texas Steakhouses. Let's begin with the atmosphere since it is the first thing you will notice coming here. It has really nice subtle lighting, nice big booths that could fit 6 people comfortably and really nice selection of music playing from Sade to Vanessa Carlton. The atmosphere hits on all the key points for me and they don't disappoint at all:) Next will come the service. Our server was very kind, respectful and helpful with us since it was our first time and we didn't know what exactly is good or not. Came back several times to check on us which was also really nice, and even asked if we wanted dessert or not. Service did not disappoint here as well:) The food, how was it? Well it is quite tasty from the Salmon that I ordered to the 7oz Steak my partner ordered. Do note that the steaks are just seasoned with salt and pepper I believe, they do not have a sauce on them unless you order that separately with it but you will be charged extra for the toppings! The salad was good and the dessert was also good. My only let down with this place wasn't the price it was the fact when you go to a place that you know your going to pay $50 per person why would you give me such a little amount on my sides for my main dinner? I had as you can see in the pic only 2 pieces of asparagus and a scoop of potatoes. This was the only let down this place had for me. I know the salmon was supposed to be the main dish but if it comes with sides then give me sides and not samples! You can't go wrong if you choose this place! It ranks in quality with the Longhorn here in Rapid City as being a good steakhouse. This place honestly deserves above a 4 stars but not a 5 stars. The price here is worth it since you are getting the whole package of great food, service and atmosphere. This will definitely not be a regular place to eat at, but one for special occasions. Once or twice a year:) Nice addition to...
Read moreI Love this new restaurant in Rapid City and thrilled it's on the West side! The remodel of the old Shooters restaurant is fabulous. They did a superb job of making it upscale with a modern feel while keeping a comfortable, relaxing and beautiful atmosphere. It's a great place for a delicious burger or drink after work, a relaxed yummy dinner or an excellent fine dining experience for a special occasion. I'm not sure how they pulled that off, but they did!
I have now been there at least six or seven times and every time I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Each time it it gets better and better. I have tried a lot of things on the menu and they have all been so yummy. The artistry of the presentation is compared to some of the top restaurants I've been anywhere! I'm in love with the mushroom with honey glaze flatbread and also the scallop appetizers (I get them every time!). The wedge salad is my fav and my top favorite delicious entrees are the lamb, salmon and ribeye. I had their ribeye last night for the first time and it was cooked perfectly. You have to the try the steak with their sautéed mushroom and onions and add the whiskey cream sauce... it's to die for!
The desserts are not your norm. Great care has been taken to create and offer unique and high flavor yumminess! My favorites are the Olive Oil Cake and the upscale Chocolate Bread Pudding! Get them both and share! The Olive Oil cake has a blood orange reduction sauce that is a perfect blend of tart and sweet on top of the moistest cake you will ever eat. The bread pudding is pure heaven with it's dense rich chocolate flavor.
I have had great service every time. I know it's not easy to always train good servers, chefs and staff but I can tell they have put a lot of effort in training theirs to ensure a pleasant and memorable experience. I'll for sure...
