Red Wing Mall — Local services in Red Wing

I'd hardly call this dump a mall. It has transformed from an all inclusive facility housing many local and national chains including a few places to grab a bite into a lame strip mall anchored by a theater. It's not a mall and it's yet another reason as if you needed to be reminded that Red Wing is a has been dying town where those that have had control won't let go at the expense of the community. Funny to those running this city into the ground places like Hastings that you could say is extremely simular can figure out how to house their downtown area, refurbish historic buildings and attack businesses to their town. Not really mall shopping. We need more smaller business and shops/boutiques to be added to get anything more than 3 stars from me. A mall should represent someplace new to check out everytime you go shopping, not just a couple of big box stores and a dance studio. Something locals want and tourists drive to get to. So much possibly but still the same stagnant shopping. Don't lose the businesses you already have but think about attracting smaller pop up shops aNd smaller boutique type businesses to help revitalize red wing. The stores are unnecessary, the sporting goods store is overpriced. Sears went out of business. The movie theater has a consistently bad selection of movies. Applebee's in the parking lot has very dense wait staff, terrible cooks and careless management. I lived by the Red Wing mall for 2 years and they didn't impress me once.
