My fiancé and I went to slumberland in redwing to look for a sectional to put in our new home. We have shopped at the location in Woodbury and had a great experience with the sales team. In Redwing, they had a sale going on as they were remodeling the store, which allowed shoppers to put an offer on the furniture and negotiate cost. Steve helped us find a la-z-boy that was great and we called later to make an offer. The original price they had for the Edie La-z-boy sectional as is, was 6,500, and we made an offer of 2,500 which they accepted right away. We found it bizarre that they accepted so quickly without any further negotiations so we did some research. After calling la-z-boy themselves, we discovered that they don’t even sell that sectional for 6,500, the most it’s ever been is 5,500 and their discounted price is 3,800. I called slumberland red wing again to inform them what I was told by la-z-boy and after Steve argued with me that it was still cheaper than what la-z-boy told me, I asked to speak with the sale manager, Vito. We informed Vito what we learned and even let him know that as we were speaking we did internet searches and found that regular sale prices for that same sectional (without discounts) were just $100 more than our offer, and they lead us to believe that we got a great deal of $4,000 off (6,500 to 2,500). He raised his voice and said he didn’t understand why I was complaining because I was still saving one hundred dollars. He said that what we found online at other furniture stores was a sale price, trying to make it sound as though they were discounted. I worked in sales for many years so I knew he was saying it was the regular sale price for that particular store and it wasn’t a discounted price like he was trying to tell me. He completely ignored my point that I was trying to make about how their advertisement was misleading, and had I made an offer of 3,000 it would have been above the typical sale price. Vito did not allow me to explain myself, and did not allow me to make another offer. We were very interested in the sectional along with other pieces at that location and because of Vito’s level of disrespect, and his hot-headed temperament, we refused to buy anything there. I will not be shopping from...
Read moreWe purchased a Sealy queen size mattress that was on sale. They said it was regularly priced at $770.00, we paid 418.00 with taxes and delivery charges. On the sixth day it started to sag. I called and got Tim the manager, fast talking and started telling me things about the sale that I had never heard before. We went round and round trying to resolve as the bed is for my very ill son. We didn't get any help with this and we are left with a sagging cheaply made mattress that will need to be discarded very shortly. I would not buy a mattress here unless you go over the sale with caution. Tim is only there to sell, not to help people. Buyer beware of cheesy cheap junk passed off as quality.,We we're given the option of returning the sagging mattress, and it was really sagging , not even a month of use, so we said okay, they brought another queen size mattress and box spring, we were told all sorts of great things about how firm it is Not the case. The owner actually told me it's the newest thing, new technology, blah, blah, also she said they don't make flippable mattress anymore, well I am old but not stupid. I have seen flippable mattresses at Menards and they were actually cheaper. The new mattress looks very much like the previous sagging one, and it is sagging already. We had to put blankets under it.Again I warn anyone who needs a mattress to do your research,I would go to Menards and order one that has two sides, unless you want to pay nearly $ 1000.00 for a sagging cheap pathetic Sealy. The mattresses that can be flipped last twice as long, and are made better.Maybe that's why the owner tried to convince me that they don't make them anymore. Loads of BS, again we are stuck with a cheesy, sagging piece of junk,very...
Read moreI bought my mom a new mattress from this slumberland and it was being delivered. Yesterday they came to deliver it and the one delivery guy named Isaiah was the rudest person I've ever met. He came in cranky from the very beginning. He was shoving the mattress in the house in such a rush he was knocking pictures off the wall and almost took the ceiling light right out. He ended up not even getting it upstairs because he wanted my mom to remove all her wall decor which wasn't necessary. When he was attempting to get it up the stairs he was making excessively loud grunting noises. Then he said he couldn't get it up the stairs and was yelling at mom saying "are you refusing this order? I'll call the sale manager." Just because she wouldn't remove her wall decor. He ended up leaving the mattress and storming out. He said to his co worker "I wish we didn't even bring the other mattress out." The other worker with him was super nice and seemed embarrassed how his co worker was acting. He apologized for his coworkers behavior. We ended up getting the mattress upstairs without removing wall decor ourselves with no issues. My mom called the store to complain about the guy and the store manager said he's never had a complaint about this delivery guy which is very hard to believe with the way he treated my mom. My mom was crying when he left cause of the way he was...
