Yesterday, we visited 📍Red Wing, MN’s The Pottery Place Historic Center for the first time in years. First, we appreciated the many historical elements of the building that included informational signage, photographs, maintained architecture and Red Wing pottery-related artifacts. Second, we enjoyed exploring the many shops found throughout that included furniture consignment, clothing, hair salon, local artists and tourism related gifts! Lastly, the food—chocolates, a cafe and pizza! We enjoyed a GF pizza while my son indulged on the lunch buffet at local popular hotspot-Godfather’s Pizza. This entire center is a must-see and must-visit when coming to Red Wing, Minnesota and the Lake Pepin MN and WI region.

Absolutely loved the antiques and the history of the building. The thing I did not like was buying old ski’s and a toboggan with out thought on how we were going to get it on the airplane! The fostoria collection was fantastic. We left with hundreds of dollars In goods Pro tip- take cash and you will get 10% off.

Great presentation of products in all stores. One looks like you are walking into a woodworkers paradise... don't miss that one. Trust me you will want at least one if not more of his unique designed Creations. This young man is truly an artist with unique ideas. and will visit with you like you were family. Truly a wonderful experience. The antique stores are displayed like your own home.. And if you have lots and lots of time..check out the antique store upstairs..they also have elevators so you don't have to climb stairs. You will wonder around ...and of you are older ...it is so nostalgic that it may bring tears to your eyes. as in oh my goodness..my grandma had that. It goes on and on.. completely enjoyed my...

The actual antique store is beautiful with many wonderful finds...Customer service does not exist. Having grown up in this town...There is a real "Townie" mentality towards anyone perceived as not being from Red Wing. Leave your money and leave. Many coded terms to determine this... "Are you from around here?" and "How long are you staying". The older lady followed us around using pretexts to spy on us...after making large purchases on three different occasions. Never a smile, never a Thank You...likely the reason very few customers are seen in the Pottery mall. Has not changed much from when it opened in the 80's.
