Rancho Loco Grill & Bar- Red Wing, MN Over the weekend, my family of four visited Rancho Loco in Red Wing. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing and upsetting especially as we were trying to accommodate our child’s dietary needs. When placing our order, we specifically asked our waitress to serve the vegetables on a separate plate and to provide double rice with no beans, as our 9-year-old son does not like spicy food or beans. The food took quite a while to arrive. When it finally did, the steak was covered in a green vegetable sauce, and the second plate had rice, beans and vegetables not what we had requested. We politely reminded the waitress of our request, and her reaction was unexpectedly unprofessional. She angrily grabbed the vegetable plate, slammed it onto another table, and raised her voice, saying, “Okay, I’ll bring you a different plate.” She did not take back the incorrect steak. When we asked for a new steak prepared plain, as originally ordered, she again responded with attitude, asking, “What’s wrong with it?” We explained that it had a sauce on it we didn’t want. She left without further response. About 10-15 minutes later, the cook personally brought out a plain steak, which was appreciated and finally matched our request. However, when the bill came, we were charged for both steaks, despite the first being incorrect due to their mistake. By that point, we just wanted to leave the uncomfortable environment and decided to pay without arguing further. This experience left us disappointed, especially due to the lack of courtesy and professionalism shown toward our family and particularly toward our child’s needs. Based on this visit, we will not be returning, and we do not recommend this restaurant to families, especially those with young children or dietary...

I wish I could give ZERO stars.

We walked in to one table of people. So we were excited to not have to wait for a table. Sat down. Took forever to get a drink order in. Took even longer to get our drinks ( a beer and a soda). Went to both bathrooms looking for a changing table. Both were broken and hanging so low you can not safely put your child on it. We ordered queso with meat and was flavorless. The food was terrible. I sent it back and respectfully just didnt ask them to remake it or anything of the sorts. We sat there for 2 hours ( MOST of the time was waiting) waiting for refills or a bill, a box, to order. The 2 servers and host stood around most of the time just talking instead of attending the tables they had ( us and one other table). We gave up trying to order more drinks, I had to finally hunt someone down for the bill. The guy tried to charge me for the food I didnt eat other than the first bite. I had to send my spouse out to the car with our child since our child was getting tired. The guy finally brought me the corrected check even after being annoyed by me asking politely. I still ended up waiting for over 10 mins to get the bill back. Didn't even get a box for my husband's food. Server Angel was terrible. The menus were sticky. We've been to the 2 other locations in Rochester and they have excellent food and servers so take the drive there if you really want to try this franchise. WE WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS LOCATION. Extremely...

If you enjoy Mexican food, this is a great place to enjoy some fabulous authentic dishes. Located in Red Wing, MN near the Pottery Place Shopping Mall, it is a large establishment with plenty of seating, including a bar at the front of restaurant with seating there as well.

The menu included a large variety of choices from every category, including appetizers, desserts and drinks. My only complaint was that the print on the menu was so small I had a difficult time reading it without my reading glasses. The wait staff was very helpful however in answering any questions i had and making suggestions.

Upon being seated, we were greeted by our server almost immediately, and served a heaping bowl of warm chips, salsa and black bean dip which were complimentary. After placing our orders, our food arrived within a very reasonable time frame, the portions were more than generous, and was delicious!!

So, if you are in the Red Wing area, and love authentic Mexican food, or just want to have a drink and some chips & salsa while you watch a football game on the tv, this is a great place to stop! And when you're finished, you can head over to the historic Pottery Place Shopping Mall to peruse the many unique...

Great dining experience. During a day drive to Red Wing, decided to stop for dinner. We chose Rancho Loco and are glad we did. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very nice and we were greeted and immediately seated. Our waiter was very helpful in addressing our inquiries of the menu and drinks. I ordered the Burrito Gordo, and I have to say I was amazed. It was huge, way bigger than pictured on the menu. There was no way I could finish it, even after sharing it with a couple of my table mates. It was really delicious and they had a very good selection of hot sauce at the table, with some that were habenero based and quite spicy, nice! The vegetarian fajitas were also served piping hot and were really tasty. Quesadillas were also stuffed with plenty of fillings and some were taken home as they also were very generously sized. Service was very attentive and fulfilled every request promptly. The margaritas looked amazing, though we didn't have one. Maybe next time. Highly recommended if you are in the area, quite reasonable prices as well. Under $100 for a party of 5 adults, with drinks.

I'm skeptical of Mexican food in the Midwest, as it tends to cater to bland palates, but I was delighted to find that Rancho Loco is a lot like the restaurants I grew up with in California. The menu is huge and offers a wide variety of food, and what we had actually included some spices and nuance. A number of different hot sauces sat on the table, too, to add a little heat if so desired. Portions were huge. The restaurant had a nice ambience, too. The tables were nicely spaced out, the decor on-theme without being over-the-top. A soccer game was on the TV over us, which my husband enjoyed watching. Service was great the whole time. We were never kept waiting long, and food came out right as we finished up our chip bowl. I'd definitely come here again!

This was our first time visiting the restaurant. As we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by the two employees working the service desk. One of them brought us to our table. We received chips with mild and bean salsa immediately. We received our food quickly after we ordered our food. Our food was delicious with good size portions. The taco salad had freshly cooked vegetables. The chicken was seasoned nicely. Our waiter checked on us numerous times and was very friendly. We highly recommend it.
