We only stayed here for a night but I wish we stayed longer. The rooms are nothing extravagant but very clean and they are equipped with small amenities that other hotels don’t offer. I was surprised to see makeup wipes offered with the toiletries and the magnifying mirror was nice to have in the room. The towels were nice and plush and I liked that they had directions for the shower since every place is different. The AC unit in the room was so quiet compared to other hotels. The continental breakfast was delicious and surprising. They had your typical make-your-own waffles but had a delicious strawberry topping in the refrigerator you could add and had whipped cream. They had both regular and sugar free syrup to choose from. They also had some fresh turnovers, bagels and English muffins and each item was wrapped and dated. At check out, we were greeted by Shamus/Seamus (not sure the spelling he uses) and he brought a coloring book and full box of crayons for my 3 year old. She was shy as usual but he was so gentle in speaking with her and got on her level before speaking a word to her. Before we left she did open up enough to give him a coloring page she did that he says would go into a book of coloring pages from the kids who stay there. We were very pleased with the staff, the rooms and the breakfast and would definitely...
Read moreMy experience sucked. I made the reservation with my credit card over the phone, left home and by accident left my credit card behind, and when I showed up they refused to give me a room. I had my ID, my wife had forwarded me a picture of my credit card, and I had $2000 of cash on me… But for some inexplicable reason it wouldn't allow this 55-year-old guy with a calm demeanor to rent a room. I suggested that they simply enter the numbers from my card into the machine… That they didn't need the actual plastic to make the transaction occur. They had a valid drivers license and a valid credit card number but we're unable to take the mental Leap without the physical plastic. I offered to put down $1000 cash as a deposit. But it was a nogo. I think it's indicative of a general manager that doesn't have a clue how to determine what real risk is. The poor clerks were very apologetic and while I was upset I couldn't blame them for the general managers mistake. I went down the road to the super eight where they were happy to take my drivers license and cash without a deposit or a credit card for room. And they charged $10 less !
If you want to stay at Nichols you had better not be a square peg in a round hole.

Read moreThis morning, I was still sleeping in my room when a housekeeper came in. She didn't flick the lights on or anything and then I heard rustling right near my bed. I immediately woke up to find out she had already left. I turned the light on and saw that my cash was missing from my wallet. I immediately ran out the door to catch the housekeeper in time and confronted her. Of course she denied it. The manager and the cops were called. The manager started accusing me of not being quick on my feet in action, but how could I when the housekeeper was being so discreet? She also accused me of racial profiling, but that has nothing to do with race! My $200 was missing! I knew I would never get my money back, but at least I should of received something. No apologies, nothing. I do not highly recommend anyone to stay here. If you do, just...
