I've actually been to the Riverside Farmers Market at least five times, and every time, I've found the prices to be ridiculous. The whole point of a farmers market is to provide farm-to-table ingredients at reasonable prices and to bypass a retail store. However, at this location, every vendor charges retail prices for their products. For example, during my last visit, I paid $16 for Asian barbecue food from Asian Street LLC. The rice bowl I ordered was supposed to come with three skewers full of meat on a bed of rice, as shown in their picture. However, when I received the food and walked away from the stand, it was just a bed of rice with about 10 pieces of meat on it, all cut into small pieces. This consistent experience has left me feeling like I've been taken advantage of by the prices and being gouged. In my opinion, it is one of the worst farmers markets I've ever been to, and I will never return or recommend it. I will also deter people I know from going there.

UPDATE TO YOUR RESPONSE BELOW**

Thank you for your response, but I must express my disappointment. It appears that my original concerns have been overlooked. My review was not about affordability; rather, it focused on the discrepancy between advertised and actual portion sizes, as well as the pricing practices at your market. Your reply feels defensive and fails to address these issues, instead using my feedback as an opportunity for a sales pitch.

I want to clarify that my critique was not about my ability to afford the market but about the value and experience I receive as a customer. I believe in fair pricing and transparency, qualities I feel were lacking in my recent visits. As someone who has been a patron of your market, I expected a more thoughtful response that addresses these concerns directly.

I hope this feedback helps you understand the nature of my dissatisfaction and encourages you to make...

Lots of organic local veggies, some vegan vendors, though not many. I would like to see more art, clothing music, crafts vegan food truck options, current there is zero vegan food trucks. More metaphysical services too, astrology, psychic readings, etc. Bodywork is now a no no with the jenocidejabbes transfection of spiked mad cow protiens...see Saulk Institute article on dangers of cannibalism created spikes that nature won't fold into a cell. Welcome to mad cow dementia merciless herd of humans that don't care about injecting or dismembering sentient monkeys, cows dogs and other animals for a jenocidejabbe or a sandwich. The deranged Frankenstein herd is culling the naive order followers with Jenocidejabbes that spread the way rat bait does. The rulers laugh. Run and get your toilet paper. They laugh at the human "herd", they even call humans a herd, "resources"...

This place is the place to be every Sunday, every season.

It offers all the typical vendors you expect at a farmers market like seasonal produce, baked goods, crafts, books and second-hand clothing, but the vibe they curate is what makes it so special.

In the warm months, they offer two sessions of free yoga, there is a dedicated play area for children, they provide blankets to sit on as well as tables and chairs.

It’s located right on the Truckee river. It’s 5 minutes away from downtown by car and easy walking distance from the casino hotels. It’s the perfect location for a tourist to see the best and most beautiful of Reno.

I love this market and attend almost every Sunday year-round. It's amazing. Fausta sells amazing baked goods near the entrance corner of the baked area and I chat with her every week to support her and enjoy her baked goods. The meat sticks are amazing and seasoned so well. $5 each. Get the lamb. The mexican taco truck is amazing. The breakfast burritos and quesadillas are amazing. When the market sells fresh produce, enjoy it. It's incredible and fresh.

I've watched this farmers market grow from nothing to a whole lot of fun for all ages. Bread, produce, meats, and so much more fresh every Sunday from 8am-1pm. I'm going every Sunday now. Also, I love the fact that if you brought your kiddos, you can take them to the park, which It only 5-10 feet away from where they do the farmers market. Obviously, go with your kids and don't leave them by themselves.
