I've actually been to the Riverside Farmers Market at least five times, and every time, I've found the prices to be ridiculous. The whole point of a farmers market is to provide farm-to-table ingredients at reasonable prices and to bypass a retail store. However, at this location, every vendor charges retail prices for their products. For example, during my last visit, I paid $16 for Asian barbecue food from Asian Street LLC. The rice bowl I ordered was supposed to come with three skewers full of meat on a bed of rice, as shown in their picture. However, when I received the food and walked away from the stand, it was just a bed of rice with about 10 pieces of meat on it, all cut into small pieces. This consistent experience has left me feeling like I've been taken advantage of by the prices and being gouged. In my opinion, it is one of the worst farmers markets I've ever been to, and I will never return or recommend it. I will also deter people I know from going there.
UPDATE TO YOUR RESPONSE BELOW**
Thank you for your response, but I must express my disappointment. It appears that my original concerns have been overlooked. My review was not about affordability; rather, it focused on the discrepancy between advertised and actual portion sizes, as well as the pricing practices at your market. Your reply feels defensive and fails to address these issues, instead using my feedback as an opportunity for a sales pitch.
I want to clarify that my critique was not about my ability to afford the market but about the value and experience I receive as a customer. I believe in fair pricing and transparency, qualities I feel were lacking in my recent visits. As someone who has been a patron of your market, I expected a more thoughtful response that addresses these concerns directly.
I hope this feedback helps you understand the nature of my dissatisfaction and encourages you to make...
