My partner and I went to celebrate our marriage and it was the best! It was our first time to this location as well and we couldn't have asked for a better host or game partner (thanks, Jim!). The game starts as soon as you get to the location. There's a gate with a QR code that you scan to receive a puzzle for the main gate code (code is blacked out in my photo). Once you get in, you head down the stairs to the main entrance and find your host (hopefully, it's Max!). You walk in to find an on-theme lobby area and a dimly lit hallway. The lights also flicker to add to the ambiance, which in hindsight was great. I had to use the restroom, which was all the way down the dimly lit hallways and I was a little bit of a wuss puss because of the flickering lights, so Max was kind enough to walk me all the way. If you've never done an escape room, they give you the low down as expected, but if you have, you get right into the game and start your game as soon as you're ready. We took on the dragon room and beat it with a minute and a half to spare! The intro was very well told by Max while Jim supported us with additional clues and confirmations along the way. When we finished, Max took our pictures and even allowed us to hold the winning crystal and have the photo in the room as well. Overall, we could not have asked for a better experience. Max and Jim were so much fun and they added some extra fun with a little magic and lore, but I'll leave them to share those bits so as to not spoil your fun. We can't wait to go back!

Review from June 2023: Once again, Keystone Escape Games blew us out of the water. The highly specialized, hand crafted and unique elements of the rooms here are beyond anything else in Reno (and elsewhere). Our Game Master Jordan was patient, charmingly in character, and so enthusiastic. You may be trying to escape the room, but the staff interactions really help you escape reality for an hour (or less if you're keen). Dragon alley in particular was so stimulating and so involved for everyone. The attention to detail was amazing and this room was so clever, it allowed me to learn how my friends think. Having done the vampire one a couple years ago, I am so impressed they were able to come up with an equally intricate and immersive experience. Come support this business - I want to see more of what they have in store. Review from May 2021: This is hands down the best escape room in Reno. It's bespoke, well thought-out, and highly rewarding. The storyline, the ambiance and attention to detail are unmatched. The tasks encourage teamwork which made this an incredibly fun time. There sense of immersion and down-to-the-wire antics of this room made it a must-try for you and your friends. I am very eagerly anticipating the opening of their next room.

My team and I have gone to a lot of escape rooms in the Reno-Sparks area, some very good and some frankly mediocre. This one has been by a good margin the best in the area. The puzzles are fantastic, intuitive enough that you aren't likely to feel like you have no idea what you're supposed to do, but complex enough that you feel clever and accomplished for finishing them. The room is maintained extremely well. The puzzles all work exactly as they're supposed to (which seems like a basic expectation, but the amount of escape rooms with puzzles that straight don't work is depressing). Best however was the atmosphere. We did the fantasy room, which included a full story explained by our guide, and unlike many rooms which give you a walkie talkie to request hints, we had a skeleton named Jim who talked with us the whole time and offered helpful hints. This added so much to the experience, because the hint system was incorporated into the theme of the room rather than being a concession of convenience that takes you out of the moment. If I could rate the room higher than a 5 star I would. Full marks, no notes.

From the moment we stepped into Dragon Alley, at Keystone Escape Games in Reno Nevada, we were transported to a vibrant and enchanting world filled with mystical artifacts, ancient scrolls, and the distinct feeling that we were on a grand quest.

The theming was absolutely top-notch, with meticulous attention to detail that sparked the imaginations of both the children and the adults in our group.

What made Dragon Alley so exceptional was its ingenious puzzle design, which catered brilliantly to a wide range of ages and skill levels. For the younger adventurers, there were engaging visual puzzles, tactile challenges, and riddles that encouraged observation and simple problem-solving.

My children, ages 5-13, were absolutely thrilled with their ability to decipher and unlocked a secret message throughout the hour! However, don't think for a second that the adults were left twiddling their thumbs. As we delved deeper into the mystery of Dragon Alley, the puzzles became significantly more intricate, requiring logical deduction, pattern recognition, and collaborative teamwork. There were moments that had the adults in our group scratching their heads, strategizing, and feeling genuinely challenged.

The narrative of Dragon Alley was also perfectly crafted for a family experience. The quest to restore the dragon crystal was engaging for the children, providing a clear and exciting objective. At the same time, the underlying lore and the subtle clues woven into the story kept the adults invested and curious to uncover the deeper secrets of the alley.

The gamemasters at Keystone Escape Games were also fantastic. They provided a welcoming and enthusiastic introduction, offered just the right amount of guidance when needed without giving away solutions, and truly enhanced the overall immersive experience.

In the end, we successfully completed the challenges and escaped the room with seconds to spare. But even though we escaped we were all reluctant to leave and end the experience. Everyone, from the youngest to the oldest, felt like they had contributed to our success.

Dragon Alley at Keystone Escape Games in Reno is a shining example of how an escape room can be both wonderfully kid-friendly and genuinely challenging for all ages. It's a must-try for families or any group looking for an unforgettable adventure that will spark joy and test everyone's wits!

This is the best escape room I've ever been to in Reno. Great production values with several VERY satisfying surprises, a few light scares that induced shrieks and giggles, but most importantly - the best overall game design. The puzzles are all clever, requiring just enough lateral thinking without requiring digging through heaps of red herrings, searching for numbers on every object in the room, or extended revisiting of previous clues and objects. Every puzzle flows logically from the previous one, and there is a huge degree of interaction and immersion. Lots of objects that didn't just require casual inspection, but which were embedded parts of the room that needed to work together in clever ways. I won't spoil anything, but in this respect you will not be disappointed. Another word on the clever design of this place - rather than requiring participants to call for help from the game master over a Walkie Talkie, all puzzle rooms are continuously monitored, with hints strategically offered at key points if you either request one out loud, or appear to desperately need one. Even better - rather than these hints being offered over the radio by an employee, they are displayed on a large LCD panel near the front door of the room. When hints appear, there's the sound of a clocktower chiming, letting you know that you should go look at the panel to get the information you need to proceed. I found this exceedingly smart, as it is far less immersion-breaking, and adds to the sense of urgency the room creates overall. As your time winds down and you complete more tasks, the pace even picks up. At a point when many rooms will have you rifling through past clues to figure out what you missed, this room will have you running, giggling, and screaming as you scramble to solve the last few puzzles, which are designed to be solved more quickly. Smart, smart, smart. This room is a blast. I hope that the people who designed it here at Keystone are at work on some more - they clearly know what...

My cousins and I recently embarked on a thrilling adventure at a terrifying escape room, and it turned out to be an unforgettable experience. From the moment we entered the dimly lit room, the atmosphere was charged with an eerie intensity that set the perfect stage for the challenges ahead. The carefully crafted ambiance, complete with spine-chilling sound effects and dim lighting, heightened the sense of urgency and made every moment inside the escape room feel genuinely suspenseful.

The puzzles were ingeniously designed, seamlessly blending with the haunted theme of the room. Each clue led us deeper into the mystery, and the collaborative nature of the puzzles brought out the best in our team. The sense of accomplishment upon solving each puzzle was exhilarating, and it kept us motivated to push forward despite the looming fear that the next challenge might be even more spine-tingling. The escape room's attention to detail and commitment to the theme made it a truly immersive experience, making us forget the outside world and fully engage with the eerie narrative.

As we successfully navigated through the maze of puzzles, the final moments of escape were met with a mixture of relief and triumphant excitement. The adrenaline rush and shared laughter we experienced made it clear that the terrifying escape room had not only provided an adrenaline-pumping adventure but also strengthened the bonds among us. It was a fantastic blend of fear, fun, and teamwork, leaving us with lasting memories and a shared story to reminisce about for...
