This is honestly my first bad review I have ever given but I feel I should be honest so people know what they are getting into with this place. Like all apartment buildings nothing is perfect but sadly after living here for 13 months I have to say the majority of my experience was negative.
The positives: Awesome and quick maintenance team Great location to downtown, beach, and the T Restaurants on site and a Starbucks
The Negatives:
Horrible Management - during our leasing process everything was great and were treated well but after that it was not the same. Only living there 13months we had 3-4 different building managers within that time. Anytime I went to the team with a question or anything for that matter they made me feel like I was bothering them or that they didn’t care. You would also go to them with concerns and they would never take action of fix anything or follow up no matter how serious the matter. They very rarely would interact with you (unless they were giving a tour then they would act like they talk to you all the time). This was upsetting and made you feel uncomfortable to come to them for anything.
Poor security/None at all - this building uses the Latch app to get into the building and other spaces but the amount of times people snuck in or homeless (yes you read that right) found there way into the building was disturbing. In the summer multiple people a week would sneak into the pool even though staff was there they somehow made their way in the building to the 2nd floor and into the pool area. The staff would never pay attention neither would the concierge or pool attendant. Homeless people would get into the building and sleep in the common spaces (I once found two homeless people sleeping in the lounge). Police were called to break up parties multiple times. A security Latch was ripped off the wall and was covered in blood along with that walls and stairs. The lack of security was alarming and management again did nothing!
Upkeep of building - sadly a large majority of the items in common spaces were broken or dirty. Pieces of furniture and amenities would break and they would never be replaced or fixed (broken rooftop chairs, broken TVs, non-working bar taps, broken sofa, broken grills, broken indoor fireplace and so on). For 2 months there was only one elevator working and management said nothing about it. Dog poop and pee in the hallways and trash rooms that looked like dumping grounds.
The disrespectful residents (management will do nothing about them or enforce rules)- I did meet some great people in this building but a large majority of the time I felt like I was living in a dorm where no one had any respect for others. People would have late parties with loud music outside, in the common spaces, and in their apartments at all hours of the night. In the summer people would have large parties with 20+ people. Instead of renting the indoor space for parties they would take up all the outdoor/indoor space and leave no room for residents. People would sneak into the parking garage and take spots instead of paying. I got flashed by some resident who thought it was ok to walk around naked under her lace robe in the common spaces. People letting their children treat the common space like their personal play space. Common spaces would be trashed ALL THE TIME! I found food trash, eaten chicken wings on the floor, spilled drink on the sofa, an entire eaten mellon, a whole cooked pig leg on the floor of the trash room. My neighbors above me got up at 4am and were the loudest walkers on the planet waking us up several times a week. Their dogs barked for hours nonstop and management did nothing about any of it when we came to them. I could go on for days honestly.
Fire alarms - be prepared to have the fire alarm go off at least once a month if not more. In 13 months of living there we had it go off 28 times. Only 1 was a real fire.
There is more but please read all the reviews and take it into consideration before signing a lease here. I did and ignored them and I...
Read moreI lived at this building for a year. I must say that they are very sweet to you before you sign your lease. After you sign, the switch flips and you are now treated as an annoyance more than anything.
For instance, there is a very tall, very obese very small faced brunette person that works in the leasing office. It is extremely rude, racist (threw slurs at my black fiancee) and entitled. It believes it's powerful for some reason. It is indeed an obese "model" and it spends more time on the internet seeking approval on instagram and likely onlyfans than it does serving the people of the building.
When I moved in I signed my lease. I was told by the desk woman at the time I needed a 60 day notice to move out at the end of my term. They got 11 months written notice. I immediately handed her a written document notifying her of my intent to move out at the end of my lease. I was harassed by the leasing office staff at the end of my lease trying to force me to reinstate my lease because i never gave my 60 day notice to leave. This was the most uncomfortable situation as they threatened to take me to court when They lost my documents stating "the front desk rep you gave your notice to doesnt work here anymore and we cant find the document you gave her so we are going to force you to pay more money."
This wasnt the only document they lost. I was harassed for months by the obese small faced person for my renters insurance upon move in. I provided it 5x over 2 weeks and kept being told im going to be kicked out without supplying the document which I provided multiple times. Upon investigation.... turns out the obese staff member purposefully deleted it.
STAY AWAY FROM 500. The staff...
Read moreWe moved into this apartment because it’s honestly the most beautiful building in revere and property I’ve ever lived in. We read the reviews prior to moving into this place and although they all mentioned terrible management and staff, we decided to forego the warnings and rent here as it was more affordable than our last place and stunning inside and out. Fast forward 3 months and we have submitted 82827474827374 noise complaints regarding the tenants above us. It continues all day and all through the night. After continually pushing them to assist, there’s been absolutely no action taken. Forget sleeping on Friday and Saturday nights as the nightclub behind the building blasts music until 2am and people scream in the parking lot and party till 4. The construction beside the building is doable—although loud. BUT the nightclub and construction fail to even compare to the tenants above. IS THERE EVEN INSULATION HERE?? People have parties of 30+ people from outside friends they invite into the common and pool areas which makes the entire space impossible to use even though management put in place a policy recently closing down all amenities at 9pm—the only thing they actually enforce. Even though, this is literally the same few people who host these events they have now ruined it for the entire community, yet, continually host them 5 out of 7 days a week.
READ THE REVIEWS. GreyStar should have every single one of these women fired and replaced by competent employees actually who...
