
I HAVE NEVER BEEN DISRESPECTED!
I love coming to this Hook N Reel. Food is great and the workers are sweet. Due to the pandemic, I decided to order food instead of dining in. I pull up to the parking lot and I look at the front of the restaurant to see if curbside pickup is an option. When I saw it was not, I look to find my mask. Unfortunately, it was no where to be found (of course 🙄) I decided that I am far from home so it is too late to go back, so I zip my fur jacket up all the way so it covers my nose. Here is the logic, I am only going to be there for less than a minute, as I am picking up food. I am greeted by the lovely hostess and there is a lady behind her. I believe her name is “Carla” and she indecently scolds me and tells me that I have to leave the building. I am dumbfounded because I can not understand why she is saying this. She then says because I am not wearing a mask I have to leave. I had on a fur jacket which nearly suffocated me as I tried to speak, that’s how well insulated it was. I do not speak to “Carla” because I do not respond to people that are rude. I tell the hostess, I am here to pick up my food and I will be on my way. Carla does not allow me to get a word in. I tell the hostess, I am leaving to grab my car, please bring the food up to my car. I call the phone number on the banner when I was curbside and the hostess says she can not give me give me the food but I hear another employee in the background say he would. I forgot to ask for his name. But I thank him for volunteering to come out with my, already paid for, food. He tells me that Revere Health Department is very strict and they routinely check Hook n Reel to see if they are following protocols to the T. Which I told him I completely understand, but there’s a way to speak to people. I did not come in the facility without a mask, in fact, I made sure that I had respect for people's life. I could barely breathe with my jacket over my face but it was a sacrifice I was willing to make. I asked him for the lady's name and he says her name is Carla. I'm not sure if its accurate. I am disgusted by the way “Carla” spoke to me. I had a mouth and nose covering. I was not dining in like everyone else who have to take their masks off to eat. If Hook N Reel is really concerned about the risks of spreading COVID then indoor seating should not exist and they should consider curbside pick up as most restaurants have done. Thank you...
Read moreI’ll have to say I just left hook and reel this evening and had the worst experience ever at restaurant!!! I ordered wings lemon pepper and the server did NOT let me know there was a difference between wings ( breaded and non-breaded. When the wings get to the table I get “breaded wings” and was expecting “non-breaded” wings. My first time here was 2 weeks ago and I loved it ! But that day I was introduced to the wings that made me so eager to come back. When I got these wings the first time they were NON BREADED. as the wings get to the table tonight I instantly let the server know I think there was a issue because the wings in front of me I DID NOT order because they were “breaded” . NOR LAST TIME or this time they ask me “BREADED OR NON BREADED” I simply didn’t know there was a difference. yet both times I come here and there different wings. When I ask to speak to the MANAGER on the floor tonight she tries to call me a LIAR? She was in my face doubting me and talking to me as if I was lying and wanted wings I was never going to eat !! I can say she had The worst management skills I’ve ever whiteness she DID NOT CARE and was simply telling us “WELL YOU ORDERED THEM” “ you have to pay for even though you didn’t eat them” What restaurant is so POORLY with there clients forcing me to pay for a mistake with your staff that I get different wings each time I come ! Plus I Come back to spend my money here just to be called a liar. She ( the manager) DID NOT OFFER to remake this or to take it off my bill !! I could not even finish my food what a waste of money. I left more than half of my food on the tables because I’m arguing with a childish manager in the middle of a restaurant. Ordered take out from Uber Eats for PICKUP, let me say that again...PICK UP. Called several times to ask some questions and the hostess kept hanging up or just not knowing what to do. When I got there to pick up my food, the rude hostess tells me that my order was already picked up, I tell her this is impossible because I ordered PICKUP. She proceeds to tell me (along with a bartender or something) that Uber Eats will deliver your food, even though you order pick up...which I know is a lie. You guys gave away my food to someone else and when you realized your mistake you proceeded to lie about what happened. If you had at least own up to it, I wouldn't have been as upset. Instead, you were rude and told me to take it up with Uber Eats. Instead, I was left hungry at 1130 am, scrambling to find somewhere to order food for my family. Hardly the" customer" service I deserve for ordering close to $100 worth of food from you. I invite you to contact me if you want to talk further about this, but until this is handled (if ever) I will leave this as a 1-star review and not order from you anymore.
