Absolutely the worst pharmacy experience ever! Please, spare yourself the mental anguish of going to this place. While I've never had an issue with the pharmacists, the majority of the pharmacy techs are a joke! Bad customer service, slower than molasses in January, inability to perform the most simple tasks, and a complete lack of empathy for customers.
Here is a list of some of the issues my family has experienced: Medications not being filled when we were told they would be ready in an hour. Being told to call another Walgreens to fill my order instead of them assisting us. Mislabeling my meds, which my wife luckily caught in time before I took them. Not having my daughter's asthma medicine ready or calling us despite stressing its urgent need a week prior. Having my wife's meds on hand but not knowing it because they hadn't checked it in, and my wife requires a super time-sensitive medication.
The list goes on and on. I truly do not understand how this pharmacy stays in business. How do the pharmacists not know how awful the techs are? And why are the techs so rude?
I finally decided to transfer all my meds to the Walgreens on Halsted. It's a little further, but it's worth the drive to avoid this place. If you're wondering why I didn't switch to another pharmacy like CVS, which has the most pleasant people I've ever seen in a drug store, it's because of insurance constraints. Otherwise, I would have dropped Walgreens like a bad habit a long time ago. But if I must use Walgreens, it won't be this one. The Walgreens on Halsted is much more pleasant and always rectifies the mess created by this location.
In short, if you like being disrespected, lied to, and treated poorly, still don't visit this Walgreens. It will be much worse than you...
Read moreI am switching to CVS Pharmacy after my experience this evening at this Walgreens. I will no longer be doing business with any Walgreens pharmacy at all. Yesterday I went to another Walgreens for a prescription and they said they’d have it in 2 hours. 2 hours later they called me and said they actually didn’t have it in stock so I had to drive back and get my prescription back from them (why didn’t they just tell me right away that it wasn’t in stock, why make me drive back? Perhaps I could’ve got it filled last night if they told me right away). So today after work, I drive to this Walgreens in homewood, and they make me wait in a really long line, with the person at the counter completely unable to figure out something with another customers insurance card. After making me wait for 30+ minutes, when it is my turn to come to the counter, the pharmacist tells me, without even looking at my prescription or anything “we’re not going to be able to fill your prescription tonight because we are panicking right now (for some reason I couldn’t hear because she didn’t explain it clearly enough)” so why did she make me wait for 30 minutes? Why was that not communicated to all of the people waiting in line? That is 2 days in a row I have driven all over and waited in line, just to have Walgreens unprofessionally tell me “sorry, we can’t help you.” The pharmacy hours were posted as open until 9:00. How is it that the pharmacist at this location would just tell me, “we can’t help you tonight” when it was only 6:00? She didn’t even look at my prescription, just turned me away after I waited in line for 30 minutes. I will never go to Walgreens for a prescription again and will be going to CVS or whoever is professional and effective...
Read moreI received automated calls from Walgreens Pharmacy in the last 3 days. I returned the call today and they say I do not have any refills. This happens alot at this location, where the automated system says no refill and when I talk to a live person, then I have a refill. I did this same process and I was on hold for 58 minutes and 15 seconds, only to be disconnected. . My call started at 440pm and I was trying to confirm my refill, so that I could call my doctor to put in a new order, today. A time before, I called the store with doctor on the phone and they found a prescription for me. I went the store and spoke an on duty manager and advise her of the situation. She took me straight to pharmacy. My doctor closes at 6pm, so I missed speaking to my doctor.
This location is the slowest and non responsive to customer needs. If I was in charge, I would reaccess the staffing at this location. This is not the first time I have had issues with their pharmacy.
I asked for a number for their corporate office and she gave me the the number for the survey. I asked her clearly, ii use this number, will I need a survey number, her reply, no. I called number and it asked for a survey number. I was very disappointed with this manager actions,by providing me with in correct information. This is sad that you can't trust a manager to provide you with the correct information. Very...
