Dunham's Sports — Local services in Richland Township

If I could rate 0 stars I would!!! Being a girl, I don't know much about hunting. So I went to Dunham's and, shame on me, thought they would be helpful in deciding what gun would be best for hunting buck my first time. I asked Mike, back in the gun section what his recommendations were for shooting clay pigeons for practice and hunting, and he recommended a Ruger .22 caliber. So I thought he knew what he was talking about. $420 later I took my purchase home and was told that you can't hunt buck with a .22 and that it would basically be good for target practice (not clay pigeons being shot into the air) and small game. About 20 minutes after I made my purchase (the gun wasn't even taken out of the box) we immediately returned to the store to exchange for something I could hunt with. We told the woman at the front as well as the manager that I was told wrong information and that I was told I could hunt buck with the .22 and we just wanted to exchange it for something more powerful. They refused, despite me just being there 20 minutes ago. When Mike was confronted regarding what he had told me, he lied and said that he NEVER told me anything like that!!! I will never shop here for anything again!! I can't support a business who employs unethical selling practices and liars just to"get a sale"!! I was truly taken advantage of and feel that they should have someone in the gun section who actually knows SOMETHING...

We waited for over 30 minutes to look at a gun. We made our intention known that we were wanting to purchase a gun, we had our coupons in hand too. Another employee was called to help but never showed up. By the time we were able to see the gun we were interested in gun sales stopped for the evening. Another group at the gun counter had one employee tied up the entire talking about non store things. The gun we were interested in is on a sale ending today. So now we will also not get the sale price. The employee really seemed uninterested in helping us and the employee that didn't show up was even more disheartening. I highly recommend Dunhams in Gibsonia for one reason and that’s working with Frank in the guns and ammo department. I came in knowing what I wanted and Frank was nothing but respectful and knowledgeable about what I was looking for. I talked to him about what I want to buy as my next purchase and he told me everything about the gun and more. Frank was very kind and called me by my first name and made sure to interact with me professionally. I will be calling Dunhams soon to make sure Frank is working so I can purchase another...
