My rating is as a first time walk in customer:
Called in to get my ends trimmed since I was around the area on saturday around 2 pm, front desk said it was OK to come in. For context, I have long straight hair (hip length).
Walked in and was welcomed kindly by front desk, who then introduced me to the hair stylist. He must've been on break prior because he was outside the salon before I entered. Description: fade cut with a small bun on top, dark hair, slim, odd dentures.
Reasons why I hated the service:
The stylist worked on my hair without washing his hands from outside
he shampooed my hair from one side more than the other and at times felt his nails around my scalp (fingernails on scalp is a NO for me because of bacteria that can produce). He used conditioner mostly on my roots and ignored the ends which is where the conditioner is supposed to penetrate most.
-his lack of washing hair caused my whole outfit to be soaked from the back both my top and skirt, he took the first 10 minutes drying me before starting the service. He left the ends of my hair wet while focusing only on my roots.
while he did ask me what length I was ok in cutting my ends, he never showed me his work. In the end, because my hair is long, I noticed my ends were uneven once dried. He was chatting it with his next customer while doing my hair which was fine but if you're going to do that, at least focus.
I paid $55 +tip for this disgusting service. He pretty much did what he wanted. They will ask you for your email and phone number along with your address for some reason so keep that in mind if you rather skip all that.
** FOR THE STABLISHMENT: PLEASE DO NOT CALL OR EMAIL ME, I WILL NEVER GO AGAIN NOR CAN YOU SAVE FACE WITH TRYING TO REPLY TO MY REVIEW OR MAKING IT BETTER BECAUSE THIS WAS HORRIBLE SERVICE BY YOUR STYLIST'S PERFORMANCE. I will block any attempts so please delete any of my information you had me fill out...
Read moreI have been coming to your salon for over 15 years and have recommended several of your clients. But the way my family was treated yesterday was completely unacceptable. My 13 year old cousin was at your salon for 6 HOURS for a highlights, base cut and style with James. Not only did everyone in the salon touch her hair at some point James was so over booked and kept taking everyone before my family that he didn’t begin to finish her hair until 830pm last night. Not only is this utterly not acceptable my family after being there again 6HOURS was offered nothing but coffee or water. I understand some processes take longer but who in their right mind would think that waiting 6 hours is acceptable especially for a 13 year old girl???? Then the bigger joke came when it was time to pay with the total costing $400. My aunt went to use her 20% off coupon and your “manager” stated it was a balaige and the coupon is not acceptable. However where ever you read about balaige it states that it is a simple 45 minute coloring process not 6 hours of sitting around waiting for your stylist to finish the 5 clients that came after them. I am disgusted that I recommend this salon to anyone right now. The manager took off $100 dollars from the $400 total bill. That is horrible customer service and after 6 HOURS your salon should have paid for my aunts time waiting by there like idiots while other clients are in and out. It really disgusts me how my family was treated by your manager yesterday and I will go through every chain of command to get a refund for her horrible service she received yesterday. Again 6 hours in your salon for a 13 year old girl and a woman who works 60 hrs a week yet made an appointment 3 weeks in advance for according to balaige is a “quick service” yet took 6 HOURS to complete. Shame...
Read moreI took a chance on this salon due to a groupon offer. I like trying out new spots in a effort to find new favorites. Elis Esper, definitely fit the bill. The minute I walked into the salon, I was greeted by their frond desk receptionist and their stylist George, shortly after. I immediately thought, this stylist looks like he belongs in the city, not Jersey, not that anything wrong with NJ. I discussed with him what my preferences were. I take chances, small ones, with my hair because it can always grow back. I decided to put it in George's hands; I got a good vibe and trusted him. He picked out a style made me close my eyes and promise to trust him, so I did. He made me open my eyes to a hairstyle he picked out for me...it looked perfect. It turned out perfect, as well. Upon chatting with George, I found he had his own salon overseas but had to abandon it due to some conflict in that area. He worked in Paris 7 years, doing hair and fashion shows. He also participated in Fashion week, here in NYC, as well as Europe. He was even summoned to this woman's hotel room in the city where he styled this woman, he did now know. She was salified with the look he gave her. She turned out to be, none other than, Kim Bassinger--famous actress. All in all, I would recommend him to all before he relocates into NYC, where this top-notch stylist belongs. All my best to George, hope the United States treats you as well as you did me!! Best wishes on your future in America!! We are lucky...
