Joe is a professional, courteous, and honest plumber.
I called Joe to replace a hose bib. I had a plumber that worked on it but I didn't like their job so I asked Joe to redo the work. Joe came to my place and looked at the work and said "they didn't do a bad job, if I redo this I would be stealing your money and I don't want to steal your money, their job is fine."
Then I had Joe move on to the 2nd hose bib replacement. He and his team wasted no time and did a professional, quick, and clean job. They minimized the opening on the wall for me and even told me to insulate after their work, which I would not have known if he did not say that.
After that I insisted him to redo the job I didn't like from the previous plumber. Joe reconnected the pex lines and added couple more joints to minimize the bending of the pipe. He charged me $50 for that but I was honestly expecting more. Joe could have easily asked for more but he did not.
There has been no water leak at all during all installation. My previous plumbers (they are all licensed plumbers) were all trial-and-error where there always a leak first then fix later.
Overall I think Joe is fantastic at his job, and most importantly, an honest person. It has been hard to come across an honest and professional plumber for me, I would call Joe again for future work. I have already recommended him to my neighbors. Please keep up...
Read moreLast night at about 8 30 I discovered that I had a clog in my toilet. Water overflowed and I was extremely upset. Where would I find a plumber on a Friday night? I Googled "plumbers in Cliffside Park " and Schaaf Plumbing came up with glowing reviews. And those reviewers were right! I called and Manny said he would be over in 30-60 minutes. He came right over and after doing some work determined that the clog was in the main and that he would have to come back in the morning to snake the main. I decided that since he needed to remove the toilet I would replace it with a taller comfort unit. Manny dropped off Guillermo at about 9 AM so he could remove the old toilet bowl. Guillermo was so sweet and polite, and very hard working. These 2 guys were fantastic! I was extremely lucky that they were able to find the clog which was very bad and took care of it is a short period of time. They even cleaned up the mess! I also had them replace a leaky kitchen faucet. I couldn't ask for better service! Manny was so professional and wasted no time. Like I said, where do you find a plumber in an emergency?? I highly recommend Schaaf Plumbing and can't thank Manny and...
Read moreTerrible experience. The owner/plumber Joe is rude, disrespectful, and more focused on overcharging than actually solving the problem. Three weeks ago, I paid him $600 for a sewer issue he claimed to have fixed—but the exact same problem happened again shortly after.
This time, he quoted me $3,500 to replace traps and even admitted there would be no guarantee the sewer wouldn’t back up again. When I pushed back, he basically told me to “go find someone else.”
He also charged $230 just to snake the drain—a job that took under 5 minutes—and tried to justify it by saying it costs him a lot to come out (even though we live in the same city). When I asked why his prices were so high, he told me I was also paying for his liability insurance and workers' comp—costs he has regardless of whether I hire him.
Thankfully, I found a competitor in the same area who did more work—replacing traps, using a sewer camera to inspect everything—for less than half of what this guy was asking. They were professional and transparent the whole time.
Avoid this rip-off company. I'm just glad I went with...
