For the first time a not so good experience. I have a Dillards card and we go to Dillards before School starts to buy my little granddaughter nice shoes for school. It’s a special experience. She loves Michael Kors and shiny shoes and our trip to Dillards is typically a fun experience and the sales persons are usually very friendly and helpful but today was quite different. Today when we arrived at about 1:30 we were greeted by a sales lady with no smile or greeting. We weren’t sure about my granddaughter’s size and tried to use the shoe measurements to find her size. She just stood there looking at us- no greeting or help. We guessed a size 13. Right away the sales lady told us to pick out all of the shoes we wanted because she had to go up and down stairs to get the shoes and didn’t like that. In the years that I have gone to Dillards not one other associate in the past has told me that they had to go up and down stairs. She didn’t offer to help us try on the shoes like others have done in the past. No smiles just looked like we were bothering her.. The shoes she brought down were too big we had sized them wrong. Another family had come in and she was friendly with them. She didn’t complain to them of having to keep going up and down stairs or telling them to pick out their shoes all at once. I was hurt about our treatment and told her about my previous experiences and how this was always a nice happy for us and previous experiences had always been been very congenial. She denied that she was treating us badly. But when another family came in her attitude became friendly she didn’t tell them the same things that she told us. We realized that it was with us that she had a problem. We needed to get a smaller size shoe and felt hesitant about asking to get us more shoes since she didn’t seem to want to wait on us and walk up and down the stairs. We decided to go elsewhere and left the shoes on the table. We live in Brandon Reservoir area so we came to Flowood and ended up at the Shoe Station where we bought my granddaughters shoes ..I’m not giving up on Dillards- one bad apple isn’t representative of your sales people. This happened today a little before 2:00 pm.. I have never written a complaint about anyone before but it hurt me that my little granddaughter had to have this experience and venting makes me...
Read moreI went to Dillard's in search of a pantsuit for an upcoming event. I was greeted by an associate who really didn't seem interested in helping me. She simply said that I had to just try things on. I walked around searching for a starting point for an hour. I didn't really know what to wear or where to start looking. As I was about to walk out of the area and just leave the store, Amy comes to me and offers to help me. I was so tired and frustrated at that point that I was in tears. Amy showed me to a dressing room after giving me a tissue to wipe away my tears. After Amy pulled a few options, she enlisted the help of Cynthia in the ladies foundations area of the store. When I say that these ladies are so kind, helping, knowledgeable of the brands and products in the store, and truly passionate about what they do, I mean it. They took the time to personally help me and I honestly felt like they wanted to help me. Not only did they help me find the perfect 'dress', they had me laughing before I checked out. Amy even took the time to introduce me to Daryl in the Lancome makeup area to finish up my shopping experience. But my shopping experience didn't end there. I later asked Tiffany in the shoe department to assist me with a particular shoe style. Not only did she help me find the perfect shoes, but while I waited for her to bring out my options, I had the pleasure of talking to a member of the Dillard family (unbeknownst to me!) about shoes in the Vince Camuto and Antonio Melanie collection. Dillard's truly is a head to toe shopping experience. Thanks again Amy, Cynthia, and Tiffany for completely turning my shopping experience...
Read moreI was searching for something to wear (specific colors) to a funeral (my grandmother), and after walking around for about 15-20min, 1 of the female employees told me that I looked like I needed a lil help. Even though I spent the bulk of my time looking in an area, where there were 2 men working, and neither of them offered any assistance (but repeatedly looked over at me, as I walked around). So, I truly appreciated her help, when she offered it, cause I was actually having trouble finding a couple items. After helping me, she asked if I needed shoes, and directed me to the necessary area. I walked over, and there was a male and female, working. Neither of them offered to help, or even asked if I needed any. They just spent their time, having "small talk" amongst themselves. But I still walked around and checked out their inventory. This had to be one of the smallest dept.'s in the store, so it made it a little worse that they didn't even attempt to get that sale. So, I chose to just purchase the outfit and bought my shoes from another store. No, there's nothing wrong with talking to your coworkers, cause hey, that always helps get you through these shifts...buuuut in any clothing/shoe store, it's probably protocol but also just common courtesy, to see if you can assist the customer. Honestly, would've been a 5-star rating, if there weren't multiple dept.'s, in the same store, that had employees that didn't utilize/or simply lacked customer...
