I had been wanting to try this place since it opened and honestly I was disappointed my first experience here. I purchased the lemon iced tea, which was not good. Ended up purchasing hibiscus tea after searching their website and saw it was offered in cups although it is not on menu. We purchased the Yassa with goat meat and chicken jollof. The wait was about 20 mins and the jollof came out first. Although the person I was with did not immediately eat, the food was rather warm, not hot and looked almost as if it had been sitting out. The chicken was dry. I received my yassa with rice and the portion was not worth the cost at all for either meals. The meat was so very tough I couldn't finish and they were very small with majority having fat on it (which I don't eat). Mostly my meal had onions than anything so I ate that with white rice. We also purchased fufu. If I did not enjoy African food prior to this experience, I would not be intrigued to eat African cultured food again. Paid around $55 and no receipt was even asked to be given. Meanwhile leaving, the owners plate were filled with huge portions of food. Although the owners were very kind, I honestly will not return and I am saddened I did not enjoy...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe experience was bad and all areas they do not greet you they do not seat YOU ANYWHERE..... they don't offer you any appetizers nothing No drinks and the food was just so awful as if it was just thrown together..... LITERALLY When WE Walked in THEY was MAKING NECKLACES at the table!!
Even though we was dining in we had to pay for the food 10 minute before they was getting done with it instead of paying after we was done eating
But my husband's fish was ok he said due to the lack of seasoning / but with his HBP it was dueable but the egusi and fufu 𤮠maybe I had a bad batch
Thanks for the quick reply by the way it was better then the service... After 4 spoon full and lying to my spouse I did spit up the next bite because I was about to barf, my bad. It was nothing like the other restaurant 3 minutes from you all. And he wanted to leave but I told him you all was already cooking to food. Yes my face showed it all because I'm his emotions.. he thought the cake was cornbread btw
But even after all this we gave you guys a great TIP just to show support BUT WE STILL WENT TO THE OTHER AFRICAN SPOT DOWN THE STREET , BECAUSE ITS...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is great place to have a meal and enjoy the atmosphere. Few weeks ago, I took my wife out for dinner. We had great time, she ordered fried rice with shrimp and I ordered wonderful spicy sauce made from cow feet. Generally, I enjoy plant based food but this time the hostess was there and I requested extra spicy to remind me the real African cuisine. It was cooked to the flavor (My head never sweet like this before). It hit the spot for me ( I caution you to order a milder version please). For drinks we had WONJO (SORREL JUICE) using dried hibiscus flowers. I strongly recommend this drink for everyone visiting. Someday, we will definitely come back, next time we will be bringing the...
