Town Line — Local services in Ridgeland

I work nights so I do my Walmart shopping early in the morning right after the store opens. I go up front to checkout but do not see a cashier. I ask the employee that is monitoring the self checkout area on the HomeGoods end of the store if there is a cashier available she says "no I don't think so" I said "I would like a cashier please because I just got off work and I am not coming to work at Walmart for free and then pay Walmart when I did their job" so she says "well I cannot leave this area" so I ask her to call the manager or supervisor and she says she doesn't have their phone number. I asked "do you mean you cannot reach your store manager or supervisor when a situation arises?" She said "no I can't but she may be in the office up front." As I am on my way to knock on the store managers door I see another employee and I ask her for the manager and also tell her what's going on and that if I cannot get a cashier I am leaving that shopping cart full of groceries there and they can go put it back on the shelves. And then the employee who said that she cannot leave the self checkout area comes down and gets on a register to check me out...WTH Walmart!!!!! Another employee comes up and says "well we don't have cashier's until 8a.m." I said I counted more than 20 employees in the grocery dept alone and most of them are on their phones or standing around talking but not working." I would like Wal-Mart to know that the condition of your stores, the quality of your products, and the quality of customer service given in your stores HAS DECLINED DRAMATICALLY over the years!! I so long for some of those mom and pop stores that you drove out of business years ago when you came...

I am 7 months pregnant and went in for a bunkbed set but couldn't find ANY help. There was a young lady there so kind to help but I told her I did not want her lifting the heavy bed. They had NO walkie and their intercoms DID NOT work therefore I had to walk all around the store for someone to help me find some guys that were willing to help with it. One lady at the self check out helped me but couldn't find any guys there either. Luckily my mom was able to lift it and was able to partially put onto the cart to get it paid for. We went outside and found one of the guys that were getting carts to help put it in my car and was so kind to stop what he was doing to help. This walmart is always packed. If you are wanting to be in and out, this is not the place to come. They always have just 1 line open for checkout and the rest are self checkout. The lines are always so long to the point, you put your items back and walk out. Half of their machines are always down and when the machine your scanning on hits a snag, you have to raise your hand to get and employee to come even though there is one standing there.
