I was craving for some catfish and decided to try the new place around the corner. Let’s just say my first experience was not so great!!! I ordered the catfish plate with 1 side and 3 order of 8 pc wings. One of the wings was suppose have had curly fries. They put all crinkle fries with my order. Don’t see how they forgot because I was the first and only customer when they open. But, Ok. Cool. Not a problem. Then proceed to try the food because it was fresh and hot. The catfish was not fired right at all. Not season on it. If it did the lemon that was squeezed and placed on top of it overshadowed the taste. It was fried to soft that it fell apart picking it up. It was soggy ion know from the lemon or from them just dropping the fish in the plate straight from the basket. Because it look like grease was also in the plate. The okra was all matted together like they didn’t shake the basket while it was cooking in the grease. Which was obvious because in the fries there was some overcooked brunt fries in the fries as well as the okra. I spend $62 in there for food that I threw away. I was craving for some catfish and be highly disappointed. Sometimes you should just stick to what you know. Especially when you’re hungry it’s best not to try new things. I might go again and try the shrimp because I heard that was ok. But I won’t be getting the fish there again. It’s only three places that cook good fish in Jackson. And I was just trying another location out to see could we add another place to the best catfish. Nope! The...
Read moreThis review is of a newly opened business please do not take this single review as a reason to not try this business. Perfection takes time. County line fish hut was a acceptable experience. It was not bad by any means but I am also not necessarily ready to call it great. I will say it has a lot of great things going for it though and a great future ahead with lots of amenities to draw you in once they work out the kinks of being a new business. My food was not bad but my taste flavors were not consistent. I bought a couple of dishes to try. The taste felt as if one chef started cooking on one dish and another tagged in and did my next dish. One was decently seasoned and the other dish was bland and slightly overcooked and a little dry. So food wise to me it's an acceptable newly opened work in progress. The service was impeccable. The workers were very helpful and informative as to menu items and what was good to try. They also were very active moving around and keeping tables and floors clean. The atmosphere was quite nice also. They have three big television screens with different options for things to watch and yes the day I was in there one of the options was sports. All in all I plan to try them again in a few weeks once the cooks get a little more acclimated and I think...
Read moreI went in The Fish Hut a few weeks ago and left a review on my experience. After leaving my review I received a message from Presley McPhail, on Facebook, asking me to give them another try. I said that I really didn’t like any of my food I ordered. ALL of the food was bad…crawfish, fish, the shrimp, and the sides. He said that he was messaging me to invite me back, I told him I’d come back since he messaged me. When I asked when, he stated that he wouldn’t do any accommodations. I explained to him why would I come back to a restaurant so soon that was an absolutely horrible experience? The food was the worst I’ve seen had in the metro, seriously. He said that I wanted a handout smh. I explained to him that as a guy who has done well for himself I take offense in him saying this. As a white giy his verbiage and choice of language was very subliminal. I told him that he messaged me, I didn’t message him. I did a review and I was done with it. Instead he chose to message me, and after I told him I wouldn’t never be back he blocked me after saying they didn’t want my business anyway. Great, I’ll never go back to that horrible restaurant and I can guarantee you this place will not last long. Mark my words, the worst seafood I’ve ever...
