Grand China Sushi & Chinese — Restaurant in Ridgeland

Yesterday around 7:00pm, I visited this restaurant with my sister-in-law and her boyfriend we were hoping to have a quiet dinner but minutes after we arrived, the owner who is in always in the front desk, started insulting one of his workers. He humiliated him and disrespected him in front of all the customers. Everyone in there heard all the cursing that he was saying from the kitchen, he was insulting in English and Spanish because his worker is Hispanic.

When he get out of the kitchen one of the customers who was there, tell him to relax because he was being really rude and aggressive,this man got very aggressive and started cursing and yelling again, he get closer to the customer.

At some point we could see that he almost hit him. The other lady try to calm him down and he tried to hit her. After that scene we had a somewhat quiet dinner although the bad vibe continued there and some insults come out every couple minutes.

We were able to finish eating I saw that the costumer try to leave after he and the people he was with finish eating. They went to pay their ticket and then the insults and yelling started again the worker also tried to hit the lady again and pushed her through the doors behind the front desk, they started arguing in their language and minutes after he walk inside and keep insulting and yelling to the costumers trying to start a fight, the lady one more time tried to calm him down, the costumers just get in their truck and leave.

It was a terrible atmosphere there were families (with little kids) present and he didn’t care. A restaurant is supposed to be a family and peaceful place to enjoy your food, the atmosphere supposed to be nice but in this place you can't trust going there with your children with such scenes.

I would never comeback to this restaurant, because of this and what I heard… some people say that this isn’t the first time that...

My daughter and I went to this restaurant for lunch. There is a horrible smell when you walk in. The selection was horrible, the meats looked dry and old. They had chopped boiled eggs in the rice.. I asked the lady about bringing out other fresh selections. she finally brought out some coconut shrimp but it looked like they dumped sauce on top of the shrimp. Very dissatisfied so we told the staff that we would eat elsewhere. No food was NOT eaten or touched at all. They proceeded to call the police on me and my daughter saying that we stole the food and were trying to leave without paying! They videotaped me and my daughter, following us to our vehicle saying that we must pay even though we didn't eat or touch the food. The Man told me and my daughter that this is America and we should go back where we came from.. we were born here, not foreigners! The man then proceeded to come over to my side of the vehicle and invaded my personal space. I couldn't believe what was happening. I calmly told them they did not have to do that, that we would be waiting for the police to arrive because I did not want to pay for their horrible food THAT WE DID NOT EAT. In any case, the police officers were very nice and professional and we were able to leave without incident. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, the service was horrible, the food looked very old and dry, the integrity of the staff was absent. We had a horrible experience here today. My family came here to eat after a family outing at TopGolf. Considering that some of the family ate at TopGolf, only about 5 of the 8 family members ate at this restaurant. Things were going well until it was time for us to pay.

The waitress put everything on one ticket when we told her we were all paying separately. We went to the front counter to split the checks and resolve this.

When my brother and law went to pay, the owner assumed he was trying to skip out on paying for his whole family when he was the only one in his family of 5 who ate. My brother in law was trying to calmly explain, with the help of our waitress, that he was the only one who ate.

The owner disregard everything he said, even with the waitress’s validation, and started yelling and screaming. We told him to check the cameras to see we were telling the truth. He continued screaming and cursing, causing a scene in the restaurant.

We all exchanged words, and we eventually left. The whole incident could’ve been easily resolved if he would have been willing to talk through it all.

I’ll never eat here again. I would rather eat in a gas station bathroom. The customer service, or lack thereof, was terrible. The air conditioning did not work and everything was hot.
