I'd been coming to Bamba for literally 16 yrs. In the beginning things were amazing, but my last few (plural)experiences have been awful. I guess things change when you move from your home to a shop. It is very obvious that customer service and quality are not the priority here! There are overlapping appointments no organization ( appointment was at 2pm didn't get in the chair until after 3pm and then another client came in and the owner Bamba started working on her hair instead), I showed her a picture of what I wanted and the hair style looked nothing like it (each braid in my hair were clearly not the same size and obvious part discrepancy), further more Bamba again the owner gets clearly upset with me and starts talking about me to the other "helpers"because she failed to establish quality; I say helpers because she never has steady workers (high turn over rate I wonder why) ... Mind you, this experience has happened multiple times. I've been such a long customer I wanted to at least provide benefit of doubt however I think I cared more about thebthe relationship than Bamba the owner!! This pains me to part ways and post this but to salvage EVERYONE ELSE FROM GOING THROUGH WHAT I WENT THROUGH.... JUST SAY NO.. You can go to other places with efficiency, quality, and customer service. If you would like additional details comment I'll be glad to help...
Read moreI received twenty five braids in my hair for $120 !! I have natural hair and have been growing it natural for two years now. It was healthy before I went to this shop. I had an event to go to the next day so it was last minute but they said they could do the simple style I wanted and said it started at $50. I get there sit and tell the lady I'm just coming from work so please put a little water on my hair before you begin to come it out. She pulled my hair out so roughly. She took over five hours to braid my hair into a bun and every time I told her you are braiding much too tight she acted annoyed but I didn't care I wanted to leave with edges. She continues to pull my hair too tight. The end result was disappointing. My natural hair was sticking out the braid all over. When I got home into better lighting I was disgusted. I took those braids out five days later because I simply couldn't deal with the pain anymore. So $120 5 days!!! Upon dissecting the condition of my hair I realize that when she was cutting the braiding hair she had also been cutting my hair to hide the hair sticking out the braid. Now my hair is all different lengths all over my head and my two yrs of growing are all messed up. This shop and it's braiders are ever going to get my business again!!! And I suggest anyone who reads this post...
Read moreBamba the owner is horrible. I went to her for crotchet braids and I was using curly hair. Apparently she never used the hair before but didn’t say anything until she was finished. She separated the hair too many times when I said just once and then she was taking her fingers through the hair as she installed it. It’s synthetic hair, that makes it frizzy and looks horrible. End result it was a hot mess. I thought if I went home and twisted it up it would look better. Not. So I called her asking for a refund and she said she could give me half. Fine. So I went to get my money and she’s like you can’t leave with the hair I have to take it out in order for you the get half back, mind you I bought the hair for her to install. Saying it’s the owners policy, she’s the owner. She didn’t say any of this on the phone or I could have came prepared but whatever. So she cuts it out and proceeds to take out my braids. Uh no ma’am then I’m getting a full refund. She was rude and she was not timely. When I originally made the appointment if was for 10 am. She told me to call the day of at 9:30 to confirm. I did. She then called me back saying 10:30. I get there at 10:30 and she’s doing someone else’s head. She didn’t start my hair until after 11. Then was on the phone or talking to her friends coming in and out. Just...
