El Ranchero Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Riverdale

So I truly do not like giving bad reviews. But this is another bad review I have to give. So they do not have a high rating on their reviews I believe it was a 3.5. But the pictures of the food actually look very good. So we ordered a steak, chicken, shrimp fajita. We also ordered a pitcher of the house Margarita. So let's start with the drinks. I ordered a pitcher of Margarita. She ( the waitress) comes with a little small pitcher. When we ordered I specified told the young lady that we wanted a pitcher of Margarita.  I also said that I wanted a shot of tequila. So in the small pitcher of the margarita she (the waitress) says I put your shot. ??? Ok, so that happen, then the food comes out. The fajita it has it's sizzle. So we make up our fajita. Take a bite, the shrimp is way overcooked and the steak is too tough to eat. The pictures of the food looks good, but literally it does not taste good at all. There was no seasoning in the fajita meats at all. The steak was dry and tough. The shrimp was overcooked tough the chicken oh well... no real words to say.  Now be it, when we initially walked in there was an elder couple and the man was fussing at the waitress. Saying that he would stop payment. Now usually in these type of situations I'm nosy so I would ask what happened especially when I'm about to eat food at a restaurant. But in this case I did not. So we try to eat the food we could not, so ask for the check. I received the check to see that they placed gratuity already on the check🤔 oh. So with only two people in my party being me and my guess. They decided that they are going to charge me for their waitress who did not provide quality service she instantly gets a tip. With bad service.  She's says they do that at all the restaurants 🤔yeah that's not true. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. They are not friendly. The waitress was not helpful. I asked her what do people normally eat from this restaurant. She says did you read the menu "huh??" Not friendly at all and I, who always tip don't like going to restaurants where they feel that they can dictate to you what you're going to pay their waiters or waitresses. I do not patronize places of this statue ever. That's why I love traveling abroad because restaurants in other countries pay their waiters and waitresses fair wages.  P.S. the restaurant is very dusty and I don't believe it's so clean. Met up with a friend here yesterday....he already had his order when I arrived. We talked and caught up while I waited at least 30 mins for someone to acknowledge me...never happened. Asked several of them who's the server for the bar.....they acted like they didnt speak any English or could understand what I was I saying. So I grabbed a menu myself bc we were sitting at the bar. Continued to ask. One lady was rude and said she didnt know and just walked away. After asking again one lady said "she will be with you" as if it's a different person yet shes the one that came to take my order but I wasnt ready. I was only trying to figure out who was the server so I could speak to correct person instead of talking to someone who wasnt bc no ever came and acknowledged me.....bc I wasn'ready to hv my order placed when one of them finally did say that they'd take my order she never came back and they ignored me. They were beyond rude and unprofessional.....needless to say I never did get an order placed. Me being a business owner and in the service industry....was very disappointed in how they responded. There was a lack of care of me patronizing this business...they were extremely controversial and comfortable with being rude. They were also comfortable with ignoring me when I was trying to get service as if there are no consequences for there actions. Like they were not afraid to lose there job or get reprimanded by a manager that they never got for me to speak...

Food was great but here were my issues. The waiter was not much of a communicator he act like he was in a rush an my table was the only table he had. We did not get our food at the same time but everyone’s plate was steaming pros an cons, so I was nibbling on everyone else’s plate an he never came to ask if we needed refills or tell us anything about the timing on our food, but I would see him pop in an out the kitchen chatting with his coworkers. I had ordered a single taco an forgot so when he brought it to the table with my sister food I just thought it was tortillas because it was wrapped in aluminum foil, he didn’t verify what it was. When he did finally ask if we needed a refill it was because he said it’s almost time for him to go so he’s gonna bring me my check but I ordered a TO GO order an told him that but he still bring it out on a plate. I’ve never been a waiter but I’ve worked in fast food for 7 years an another 7 years at Quiktrip I don’t care what mood I’m in if I don’t wanna be there I still do my beat in customer service an suggest sales a good work ethic will get you places not saying because he was young but they need to do better training with their waiters. I talked more to him then he did me. I don’t eat out much an try not to complain but some things I just can’t let slide. But I will not come back I’ll give a good tip to people who actually want to do their job even...
