Forget Me Not Antiques — Local services in Riverside

I found a lot of cool furniture I'd buy if I didn't ride the bus and therefore had no means to bring them home. Nonetheless, I found a small item I was interested in and though it wasn't worth $15, was going to buy it anyway. Earlier in my browsing I found a postcard flier advertising a Christmas open house. When I decided to buy the item, I didn't really want to be holding it, the flier, and my phone, so silly me unzipped my backpack and put the flier in. I was just about to leave the area of the store I was in when the staff lady (owner?) suddenly appears and asks if I put something in my backpack. I said yes, the flier thing... And she stared at me, making me uncomfortable, and even asked if I was sure. Uh...yes I'm sure what I put in my backpack... I'd be really concerned if I wasn't. Finally I seemed to pass whatever assessment she was making and went passed her. She then went into the alcove and looked around as if she could tell what was taken. In front of a sign that said security cameras were on. In the end I put back the item and left, taking it as a sign I didn't need it after all and should save my money. I was insulted and didn't appreciate being made so uncomfortable and so blatantly accused. It was like a shark attracted to blood; she heard the zipper, I'm assuming, and popped up. I wonder if she'd have done the same if she'd heard the zipper of a purse? It's not like there wasn't a ton of small knick knacks that could be smuggled...

I was excited to visit this place because I follow them on Instagram. The man working was super nice and accommodating and helped us contact a dealer regarding pricing because the signage was confusing. The woman though, was coming back in from somewhere and was kind of dismissive of our questions and if not for the man, they would have lost the sale. Maybe she was rushed and just coming back in with things on her mind but that should not rub off onto her attitude...

I’m so torn. This place really does have a lot of cool things. But I was told 4 different prices on the same item in 2 days. I was also told there was $50 tax on the medium sized item. Once that was out of my price range the tax was mysteriously unnecessary. No receipt given. Idk seems sort of sketchy on the upping on the prices. Or maybe they’re making them on the spot. Either way, I only really bought the item because my grandma wanted it. Otherwise I’d never do...
