Had what I needed.

Read moreIf this is the Riverton, Utah store I cannot say enough good things. I have never given Home Depot anywhere five stars. Lack of adequate assistance and directions are usually the norm. BUT this last Saturday in Riverton impressed me. Everyone took personal interest with the exception of one small framed Caucasian lady at the beginning who summarily dismissed my question and sent me to the Pro Counter which was closed. My friend Ed was picking up a utility trailer which he ordered and it was in. I wanted to know what size ball was needed for the hook up and initially I was put off. When I went to the closed Pro Desk I was wandering about like a dementia patient where I ran into Josie who could not help me but she physically escorted me back to the Order area and tried to pull the specs up on the trailer. There were many computer issues that day. She ran into a most pleasant young man who did not know much detail but he took me physically all over the store to get answers. We found the trailer in a box. It had cosmetic damage. The cashier who wore glasses took %15 off and he was a gem to work with. Another older man helped us get the right ball for the hitch. And he saw we were not happy the trailer was not assembled and he coordinated a scheduling for the engineer to assemble it who would not be in until Tuesday. I called Tuesday to follow up at 1 pm and pleasant Sheryl was great on the phone.
The store needs much help with the several breakdowns in their system. 1. Computer issues. 2. Store ordering without telling the customer about assembly. I mean, come on, we ordered a utility trailer to be towed behind a car and it comes in a box? 3. The availability of the person building the trailer was three days later and did not get in until 1 pm on Tuesday.
HOWEVER, I cannot and will not jig a rating because Home Depot procedures were not customer friendly in this case...but these associates...all except the small skinny lady at the Order desk in the beginning...worked around these store issues, took my hand and would not let me go until all questions were answered and help received even if they did not know the answer themselves. Amazing! I wish I got the name of my first associate contact so that she can receive extra training in customer service or otherwise transfer to...
Read moreI ordered 9- 10 lb bags of lava rock on June 29th. I was told my order would be there in 2-3 days. 10 days later I finally received a email telling me my product was in. I arrived and was given 4- 5lb bags of lava rock. I immediately called customer service and told them I was only given 20lbs of the 90 I was supposed to receive, and that these were not 10 lb bags, but only 5 and that I would bring it back into the store if needed. Cust service apologized and told me they were ordering the rest of my rock. Approx another 10 days later,(all this time my customer is waiting) I get another email that my Rock is in. When I arrive, it's 4- 10lb bags( I've receivedabout 60lbs), so I'm still short. The cashier calls customer service and they say that I need to take up the issue with the manufacturer. I tell him Absolutely not, that I ordered through home depot and not the manufacturer and that THEY need to be the ones to resolve this with the manufacturer. I was told he would reach out to his supervisor and call me. I received a call this morning, another 9 days later stating they had 2- 10lb. Bags available for me to pickup. I'm STILL short. I call customer service and speak to them, the lady was extremely nice and apologized, but my only options are take the 2 bags they have now or cancel my order. I decided to cancel. I've been extremely patient, kind and understanding throughout this whole ordeal. She states they will refund me what I'm owed, (30lbs) and give me a discount for the bags I have received. My total refunded came to $26.00. About the price of 2 bags. So in the end, I still got completely ripped off. I've never felt so taken advantage of in my life. I suppose this is what happens when you're nice? Never...
