AUGUST 2024: The family wanted to shop and see what styles/fashion Pittsburgh had to offer. A Google search suggested that Mall at Robinson was the 3rd best in the area after the Ross Park and South Hills Malls. We settled on The Mall at Robinson because it had a unique anime store inside.
PROS: Clean and spacious traditional shopping mall. Plenty of elevators and escalators for customers to use. Going between levels was very easy and convenient. The Starbucks was pretty cool and was probably the coolest that I've seen inside a traditional mall. There is a free play area and a paid play area for the kids to enjoy. Obviously, the paid play area had more stuff to do. The Lil Bunny play area had a sale going-- 3 hours at $10 per child. I saw that some people hosted a kid's birthday party there, which is kinda cool. The cafés at Robinson host a pretty solid offering ranging from Chick-fil-A, Charley's, Asian rice bowls, Boba tea, and Walhburgers. The Anime World store was pretty impressive and had some hard-to-find action figures. They had DBZ, One Piece, Demon Slayer, Bleach, Death-Note, and many more fan favorites.
CONS: The free play area was just okay but limited in activities for the kids. I have seen better at other malls. While the Anime World store was super cool, they were missing some of the older anime collectibles from Akira and Ghost in the Shell.
SUMMARY: I would visit again whenever I'm in Pittsburgh and it is...

The Mall at Robinson is one of my favorite places to shop in the Pittsburgh area. It has a great mix of stores—from popular brands like Macy’s, JCPenney, and Dick’s Sporting Goods to specialty shops and unique boutiques. I love that I can do everything in one trip: browse clothing and accessories, check out the latest electronics, and even grab a bite to eat without leaving the building.
The mall is always clean and well-maintained, with wide walkways that make shopping feel relaxed rather than crowded. There’s plenty of natural light, giving it a bright and welcoming atmosphere. The food court has a nice variety of options—perfect for a quick snack or a casual lunch during a shopping break.
One of the things I appreciate most is the easy parking. No endless circling—there’s always a spot close enough to the entrance, and the location near major highways makes getting there simple.
Whether you’re shopping for the holidays, updating your wardrobe, or just looking for a fun indoor outing, The Mall at Robinson delivers a comfortable, convenient, and enjoyable experience every time....
Read moreThis is one of the closest malls to me after Parkway Center closed. I honestly don’t remember much from there. But this place has so much potential in anchor spaces, I heard a Nordstrom was originally supposed to be an anchor back when this place opened in 2001. I’m curious if that is still a plan. They’re extending the road the mall sits on so I’m curious if this mall will have more stuff surrounding it. Kohan doesn’t operate well according to sources. Nothing much has happened quite yet other than a few store closures like Time Out Zone, T Mobile, and Sleep Number. Although two of those have been replaced with a small casino and a jewelry store. It would be interesting if BJ’s Wholesale or Boscov’s make an appearance in the mall. It is a very cool and awesome place with so many stores and more. An arcade, a huge food court, and even a Toys R Us in the Macy’s store. I wonder what the grass space in the back of the mall will end up becoming, it seems like they were going to add something but it didn’t pull through. Just wondering if there are any plans for new anchor stores. But this...
