UPDATED 11/26/2012: We received an email from the owner on 11/20/2012 stating the following: Rich, happy holiday's to you and your family, checking in with you on your purchase from us you made 6 months ago. We would like to make a mutually beneficial offer to you - in the sprit of good faith that we want to resolve and understanding that we as a retailers are limited by what a manufacture's guidelines are, did more than most retailers would do - if you are willing to delete the entire review that was posted on Internet sites(yelp & google) we will.

I was not clear on what number 2 was, so I sent an email asking him what our warranty currently was on the sofa.....He sent back stating that since we accepted the credit of 700.00 (see below in review) that we accept the sofa AS IS.....Which was news to me as I accepted the sofa as is only in regards to the issue with the markings on the leather itself,. What we agreed to was not to make a claim on the markings that we initially were concerned about. I don't get how Be Seated Leather can void out the remaining warranty on our sofa in regards to any possible frame issues or padding should that occur. That is pretty terrible business practices. Be very careful when dealing with this store, they will not stand by their product and if you do have an issue, they will give you the run around. I have found the owner of this store to be very dishonest and untrustworthy. When he credited us the initial monies for the sofa, I told him I would update my review to reflect that. I did so. But after going through this, I will not remove my review regardless of any monies offered or warranty reinstatement. Consumers need to be wary of their business practices.
My husband and I purchased a leather sectional from this place at the end of December. We paid almost 4,000.00 for this thing. While it is a beautiful piece, there are 3 spots on the sofa that are raised and feel thinner than the rest of the sectional. I was very leary of this, and explained my concerns to Martin the owner. He is basically telling me that these are "unique" markings to the sofa and there is nothing they can or will do about it. Not acceptable. We will see where this goes. UPDATED: After waiting 6 weeks for them to attempt to match the leather on the sofa (which did not match) instead of replacing the sofa, Martin gave a 700.00 credit...
Read moreI purchased two identical leather sofas from Be Seated in the fall of 2016, about a year ago. I had a list of must haves such as removable cushions, color options besides brown, black and maroon, made in USA or Canada and good build and leather quality. Essentially good value since I had to buy two full size sofas. Prior to buying at Be Seated I did a lot of homework and shopped other local stores across the price ranges. Martin at Be Seated told me what to look for at various price points and to come back after I shopped to compare. For the features I needed the price was right so I bought. It took about 10 weeks for delivery and I was in no hurry. A year later no problems with either and they are well used on a daily basis, I rotate cushions to help retain their shape. Basically both look as new. Now for the reason for 5 star..my dog decided to chew a hole in one of the back cushions. I took it to Martin and he had a new one ordered in 10 mins and went out of his way to to expedite the order and delivery...so don't forget about parts and service after the sale...you may not be able to find parts at the big chain stores if you need them. I received the cushion on 11/1/17, a week ahead of schedule and color matches perfectly! At least stop in and compare and ask questions...with respect to leather you cannot go wrong here... 4/17/2018 Update: Well, again BeSeated saved the day with another pillow-cushion replacement since my dog seems to be very fond of one of the cushions. Had a new cushion again, perfect match in 2 weeks...thank you! Try to get that level of service at the big stores. Most is manufactured in China. After several months of searching we felt that we’d have to settle for mediocre furniture that we weren’t in love with. After spending sometime on their website, we decided to make the almost 2 hour trip to Rochester on a Friday night after work. From the moment we walked into the store we knew we’d be purchasing our new furniture. The furniture is made in North America and the leather is high quality.
