Dollar General — Local services in Rock Hill

I went in to grab a pair of shorts for my 7 year old. There was only one pair his size, they were unappealing athletic shorts, and they were $7. Baby outfits were $9 - $12.50. This may sound inexpensive, but I can find much better selection and quality for the same or less amount at larger stores such as Kmart and Walmart. Perhaps they are this high because there is little competition for clothing sales in this mile radius. However, being that Dollar General is a chain, I would have to assume that these are the prices in all of their stores. The store was clean and organized, but very crammed full of stuff. I expect a Dollar General to be smaller and overly filled with inexpensive items that are often of lesser quality than bigger stores, so the overall atmosphere was as expected. But to charge big store prices for off brand items in what looked like a yard sale selection of clothing items just...

When I approached the checkout counter, I tried paying with a card, and the cashier was extremely rude to me, saying “we’re taking cash only right now”, which is completely fine in my book..I understand things happen, but her tone of voice was the worst, as if I was a complete idiot for overlooking the sign at the front of store. She even went to the trouble of saying there’s a big sign out front, as if I was complaining about it. Must be a very miserable person in general, to be so rude despite the fact I was completely respectful and friendly to her. I do not recommend this Dollar General. It’s also outdated and ghetto. The place is just a complete mess. It looks as though it has never been swept. And I had to step over items on the floor in several aisles. I even took photos of the mess to post but I can't seem to be able to post them. It's just not a nice place. Plus, the staff is so unfriendly. A worker passed me as I was trying to find a plastic top to fit a plastic storage bin and didn't even speak or ask if I was finding everything ok. (They had red storage bins with red tops however the tops didn't even fit.) Management/corporate seriously needs to turn this place around. I won't...
