I was so excited about this play place to open in Rock Hill! They definitely needed a place like this. The staff are friendly, the attractions are cool, but dangerous. Actually theres a lot of ways to get injured here both kids and adults so proceed with caution. The party rooms are spacious and cute! However there were a few things I didnt like which is why I gave 2 stars. First there are no barriers or gates at the entrance to keep kids from running out of the building and anyone can just walk right in. Theres a side door that is easily opened also right near the tables. Next is the long solid hard stone wall that runs through and around the play area. This wall is not see through, and its hard to see over when sitting, kids want to climb on it and itll hurt if you fall into it. Then there’s multiple areas within the play sections that are high risk for injury. -An elevated mat in the ball pit which is a high fall area due to its hidden step up/down since its burried under the balls -The rotating table is a broken bone waiting to happen near the little kids area which should probably have an emergency stop nearby. -The tube slide is great but very dangerous unsupervised and its always unsupervised. The tubes are hard plastic underneath and going down the slide at high speeds in a hard tube is going to hurt esp little kids that don’t know to move out of the way. -Did not see anyone cleaning the play areas while there like I see at other indoor play areas. -It was hot. I felt the air was on but didn’t come on often. I wanted to enjoy this place but I was too worried about my kids getting hurt. Maybe this play place is geared towards older kiddos instead of my 2...
Read moreThe place is very cutely decorated and the actual climbing structures and play things are great. I love that they have a nursing area and fresh fruit to purchase.
I am taking two stars off because in my opinion, this is not a pleasant experience for younger kids and toddlers. I think for kids 3/4 and under, you truly need to have a 1:1 child to adult ratio. I went alone with my 3 year old and 1 year old, and will not be doing that again- it was extremely stressful. There are many places a child can become separated and needs assistance with play things.
For these reasons, charging starting at 11 months is wild to me. To their credit, they did not charge my 11 month old, but I do not think anyone under 24 months can justify paying, there's just not enough that they can do.
I also think because there is SO much fun stuff for big kids, enforcing the rules of 3 and under for the toddler area needs to be prioritized.
I also think they would be wise to double the amount of chairs they have. We sat on the floor which was less than ideal.
I look forward to revisiting either when I only have one child with me so they can be safety attended to, or when the older kids are...
Read moreVisited Playtopia on a Saturday & I just looooved it! Let’s start first with pricing. Paying for a child grants two adults for free to play along and it does not go by the hour - YOU CAN PLAY ALL DAY LONG!!! That was my favorite part bc a business that takes care of the children AND adults is a business I will always give my $ to. The snacks were priced good too. $1 for fresh fruit, $1.50 for a bottle of water, etc. Now let’s talk about the attractions. The place is not huge, but because there is so many things to see/do, all of the children & adults were pretty evenly distributed around the layout. The layout also makes the smaller space feel very specious to where you’re not back to back & running into a lot of people. Now let’s talk cleanliness. Obviously the place is very new, but the ladies monitoring the play area were also wiping it down here and there and making sure all toys are in the right zones. Lastly let’s talk customer service. The ladies were all super super nice & the lady helped carry my pizza to the table & wiped the table for me. HIGHLYYYY RECOMMEND GOING!! Especially...
