Ray & Judy's Book Stop — Local services in Rockaway

Went to this bookstore for the first time and Ray gave me a tour of all the aisles, shared stories of his life and made me feel very welcome. He mandated masks which I think is so important for the safety of customers, especially in a small space! He even provided me with a mask for free as I did not have one upon entering. If I could leave a 5 star review in exchange for every low rated review because they require masks, I would. Ray is an elderly man and it is his property, sucks that people are so entitled they choose to bring negativity to such a great business. He’s very passionate and I commend him for maintaining this business for so long! I felt like I was going into a time capsule and felt very at peace. Ray & Judy's Book Stop is a truly unusual venue. You don't see stores like this often. This is a book shop with a comic shop and other miscellaneous things inside. So you will find quite a few comics here, but lots of books and other things too! So if you are like me, and like both, this is a great place to visit.

Located in Rockaway on Main Street, it's in a small setting. But there is plenty of things here that might catch your interest. They have books, comics, toys, collecting supplies, figures, maps, classics - you name it. If you like the odd and unusual, this a good place to start. Your LCS out of that recent issue? Check here. Great selection of books. Definitely stop by to see what they have. I found some great anthologies I could use for teaching, lightly used hard covers I've always wanted for a fraction of the price, and a great selection of other books (unicorn diaries, crossword puzzles galore, shel Silverstein, Stephanie Meyer). I had hoped to maybe grab a copy of Tracy Deonn's work, but it might be too new. There was a good selection of many genres. They have Pokémon cards and Animal Crossing Pez. I'll definitely be returning. I'm regretting not snagging a NJ hiking, trail book.
