Tractor Supply Co. — Local services in Rockaway

What a very unwelcoming tractor supply store. I have been to many and have been treated no different than any of the other customers but this particular location seems to have a differentiation in race as of who comes to the store that's white and who comes to the store that's black. I walked into the store and the two women working there this day look directly at me and didn't even say welcome to Tractor Supply. But a few of the white people that walked in after me they were greeted with the welcome to Tractor Supply. No one asked me if I needed help finding anything. Also when I came to the front counter I stood there for about 5 minutes and the woman didn't even acknowledge me. It was like I was a ghost. I finally said something and she brought my online order up front. Before leaving I purchased a quart of oil and paid for that but the other cashier said absolutely nothing to me. To be honest I felt very uncomfortable with this store and just because of these two women not giving me the same welcoming and customer service that the other white customers received, I will never be returning to the store again. It was my first time ever at one of these stores, and I was definitely impressed by the vast selection of items! I was greeted pleasantly as soon as I walked in, and the gentleman kindly helped direct me to find exactly what I wanted. I made sure to check out the whole store while I was there, too, and found that they have almost everything! Dog food at reasonable prices, a decent size garden center, automotive stuff, an inexpensive dog washing zone, oh, and the cutest little chickens! I would say the prices seemed to be competitive, but no real super deals stood out to me. I see myself returning...

The store, overall is great. We went for the first time to do some shopping and to give our dogs a bath. I was a little disappointed by the cleanliness of the dog wash area. There were dirty/hairy brushes and towels everywhere. The soap bottles were almost empty and there was fur in the bathtubs and on the grooming tables. They just need someone to attend to the area after customers leave. Unfortunately, you can't depend on people to clean up after themselves. We've been back to the store several times, but I don't think I'll be bathing my dogs...
