My parents were immigrants and therefore I am sensitive to many things that immigrants experience that others may not. I began my review this way because I am going to share my experience and some of what I many say others may not understand. WIth that said, I shop at the LOTTE often because I love asian food and especially Korean food. I have never been treated rudely or anything that I would deem disrespectful. They have a good selection of asian grocery item, fresh produce, and fish, a core selection of american, latino and caribbean items and general merchandise. Recently I purchased four packs of frozen udon noodles because the tag and the store ad said they were on sale. The Lotte sells many variety of udon noodles so I made sure to pick the ones that had the same name as was advertised. Unfortunately, when I got home and checked my receipt I discovered that I was charged full price for the noodels. The next day I returned to the store and went to the customer service desk and spoke to a gentleman who was Korea; I greeted him in Korean and he smiled. I explained what happened and he said simply "You picked the wrong one,, that is not the one on sale." I said it is the same name and picture advertised. But, without checking my receipt he double down on the claim that I took the wrong one. Then he said my english is not very good and I said that is okay we can just compare the receipt to the tag. He told me that I was confused by the choices but he assures me I picked the wrong one. I became a bit sad and bewildered so I decided to leave it alone and I walked away. Next time I will take extra steps before my purchase (I won't bore you with those details) but despite this I will continue to go to the store because the access to diverse ingredents outweighs the challenges that sometimes comes with understanding our cultural...
Read moreHi I an Ethiopian recently relocated to the USA . And I usually came to the Ethiopian shop next to you and on my way I have visited your shop a couple of times you for produce. What happened to day was my experience which I felt unwelcome and I decided to share it to you. The moment I arrived at the store and picked a shopping cart , I saw the employee noticing me and giving a side eye. and all of sudden they kept following me throughout the shop while I was picking the stuff that I needed and when I finished picking the stuff I need I went to the cash register and paid. while pushing the cart out side I saw an employee waiting for me outside which he was not there we I went in. I know you might have a problem with people stealing stuff. Mind you I am a frequent customer even some of the cashier know me . And this is not the first time I have been treated like this too. This is really sad and I had too learn the skin of my color and people’s preconceptions about me with out knowing me. I literally had too go home and look my self in the mirror and say is my skin too dark. Mind you I have never felt like this in my country Ethiopia. We are all black there. I understand that you might have systems in place to protect your shop. But being treated like this after literally shopping there ever week is not acceptable. Overall it is what it is but please can you give humanity a chance. And I appreciate you. All the love to you and...

I usually stop at this place to buy Indian vegetables whenever I visit VA. The mint sold here is fresh. I bought 4 bunch of spring onions for around $0.99. All the Indian vegetables are available and you also get fresh meat and seafood there. We usually buy king fish whenever we visit this store. They also clean the fish and cut according to your instructions. You do get cat fish, bass fish, smelt fish and king size fresh prawns. You can also buy all other dals, Millets, Indian spices and snacks. Usually their rates are lower compared to other stores in the locality.
Their vegetables have good shelf life but then I was disappointed with the fruits. We bought jack fruit but most of it was spoilt. The guava they sell is of Thailand variety and tasted differently from Indian ones. They do food court internally and sell Korean and Chinese groceries.
Don’t forget to buy the sugarcane juice from the small shop opened recently within Their premises. There is ample amount of space for parking too. They do sell...
