I was scrolling through Instagram and saw the ad for the opening so I decided to try this place for dinner. There has been a lot of hype online comparing it to BD's which was a Mongolian BBQ place in Bethesda from over a decade ago so my expectations going on were pretty high. My expectations were not only met they exceeded them. The restaurant is located in the Twinbrook shopping center and is where the Bamboo Buffet used to be. It was not overly decorated but clean and just simple tables and chairs with an Instagram wall you can take pictures at in the entrance. The staff here were so friendly and helpful to explain how everything works. They give you a bowl and a card at your table and you write your name, table number, and whether or not you want your bowl made with rice or noodles. Then you take your bowl and card up to the line and fill your bowl with the ingredients you want, fill a separate cup with the sauce you want them to cook your food with, and then you hand everything to the cooks and return to your table. They cook everything on a large flat top that is open so you can see everything being cooked. When your food is ready they bring it to your table. I ordered pan fried shrimp shumai and a spider roll as appetizers. Both were very tasty and surprisingly light. Normally fried rolls and dumplings end up kind of greasy and fill me up but that wasn't an issue here. I wanted no wasabi or ginger and let my server know and they were accommodating with my request. My server was very good about checking on me and making sure everything was good and I was being taken care of. When a plate was finished they were very fast to clear it away which is very good to see. My bowl was ready very quickly and was hot and fresh when I got it. I got lo mein noodles with chicken, broccoli, zucchini, mushrooms, sprouts and szechuan as my sauce. The ingredients were fresh, the flavor was great, and the szechuan sauce had some spice but it was very balanced. For dessert I ordered green tea and strawberry mochi which they came served with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle which I have never thought to try together but works. I loved everything I ordered and unlike most asian food that I have ordered it filled me up and left me feeling satisfied but not super stuffed. The prices here are very reasonable which makes it easier to try multiple things from the menu during your visit and if you're still hungry after your first bowl you can get a second bowl for an additional $4 (dine in only). I will definitely be...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been thinking about this place since my first visit and I canāt wait to go back. We visited on 1/20 which was a holiday so they only offered dinner prices.
The menu is includes apps, ramen, sushi, and much more. We came for the star of the show - the yummy bowl experience. Once you sit down, you are asked if you would like to participate and are given a card and bowl. From there, you include your name, table number, and the type of rice you would like. Then you take your bowl to the assembly like buffet. You fill your bowl with whateverrr you want. The options are limitless. You have noodles, fruits, vegetables, proteins, etc. Then you move on to season your bowl and choose the sauces youād like to include. From there, you hand it over to the chef to cook and theyāll bring you the finished product.
My bowl was soooo good! Now, the only thing I that gagged me was how they handle to-go. I was confused and thought I misheard. My mom ended up going and asked to clarify. Your bowl is around $15. You can take your first bowl to go for free. If you want a second bowl, I believe it is an extra $4 to eat in and you cannot take your second bowl to-go under any circumstances. So if youāre like me and itās your first time, you donāt know if youāre going to like it until you try it. If you do, enjoy a bite or two, box it up and get back in line! The pictures of the bowl look small but I promise, theyāre filling. And Iām greedy so take my word for it. I also ordered the seaweed salad and calamari. As you can see from the picture, the calamari was cooked extremely hard but the sauce helped me get through. We had a good...
