Omaha Steaks — Local services in Rocky River

I hate doing negative reviews. It’s not how I’m built. In this situation, however, I want to share my experience to help others along the way make a decision about where to spend their money. If I could give this location 0 stars I would.

My elderly parents were in a challenging time with their health and I wanted to send some meals that they could just throw in the oven to help them out. Their order, delivered from this Rocky River location, by Roadie as the delivery service, was dropped off at 10pm with no knock on the doorbell or other indication it was there. My tracking information in my email never showed it was delivered, either, so I didn’t know it was sitting there.

By the time my parents got to it the next morning and found the delivery, the food was thawed. They called and were told if it was cool to the touch it was still safe to refreeze and eat. Ugh. They were also told their drivers are under no requirement to give any notice to the customer that the food has been delivered.

My husband then called the corporate number, who were helpful to reship it. They gave us a $40 card to use for our inconvenience.

I went into the Rocky River location today to grab something, again to give to my parents for THEIR inconvenience. I was told that the $40 card could only be redeemed if I made a purchase. I had to spend more money to get the $40 worth of “free” product they’d offered us as an “apology”.

Save your aggravation and money and go...

I had bought a gift package off Groupon for the holidays and had to pick up at the Rocky River store. Living I'm on the east side, I had to go on a certain day where I had time, and I am glad I did. The holiday rush had me in line for 45 minutes, because everybody was getting gift packages. Never been to an Omaha store before, but it was very nice inside. You could tell the staff were flustered, it was very busy and non-stop for them. I asked the older man who had helped me if they were always this busy and he told me only around the holidays. I wanted to send my parents in Florida some steaks and wine. According to the website there was a JOIN30 discount. If you spent $159 you would get a $30 discount. I ordered the $99 special of the day and the $69 Tour de France wine set but they would not honor the discount. They said i had to spend $159 which clearly i was. I called Omaha Steaks on the phone and after 15 minutes i finally got to talk to maybe the dumbest person I've ever had to talk to....anyway, they wouldn't honor the discount..somehow wine doesn't count .so i didn't buy...i have no problem spending my...
