Place is absolute garbage. Updating my review. I went today (December 5th, 2022). Went to use the restroom. Noticed that the walls in the restroom weren't secured and anyone could just walk in on you. That's. disturbing and against the law for sure. The restroom was absolutely the most dirty I've seen at any Walmart anywhere in the country also. Looks like mold was on The toilet base(in the video). Now for the store, literally EVERY employee was on there phone when though they were supposed to be "stocking". Every isle I walked by had an employee playing on a phone. The only good upside was there was an older lady who when I checked out was extremely nice.

We were waiting to get a pice of fabric to get cut for my school project and after asking three people we decided to go up to front desk and these people looked at me like I was say another language the manager asked a employee named JUNIOR and he did not do that we did it by ourselves and they had the audacity to say that there was two random people and call a person to come get us. We just went to the checkout and checked out will never be going back.

Still aweful store, long line at check-out. Self- ck long lines, so crowded couldn't get past carts blocking section. Saw multiple stockers, just standing around, blocking aisles (Aisle right by valentines stuff). Did see 4 all on the same aisle working (Aisle with zip lock bags, etc). They were working hard (This group of male stockers) I give 5 stars ā˜† to them only. ā–ŖļøŽI though major stocking happened over night of early, early morning.

I believe ā€œIf you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.ā€ Kind of attitude - However - I’m very tired of being treated poorly and never finding what I need. Even though this review will fall on deaf ears - Someone (whomever) needs to know why they are losing a customer (I’m sure ā€œwhomeverā€ couldn’t care less). For the past 7 years, I have dreaded coming to this location but it’s convenient to my house. I come to this location and on my way home, I stop at the neighborhood market. I realize that going to two Walmart’s in a day is absolutely ridiculous, but it’s been my routine through the years because of THIS store! This location is always disorganized, the shelves are always empty and 90% of the employees are incredibly rude! - 30 minutes ago, I stood in the heavily secured makeup isle, pushed the call button & waited 10 minutes for someone to come unlock the case for an item I needed. Nobody came! I walked back to electronics, scanned the cases for an item showing ā€œIn-Stockā€ online but could not find them. So, I went to the register to ask for help. All 3 employees in electronics were standing behind the counter with their backs turned, were laughing away with zero awareness (or care) that a customer was standing at the register. - I was patient and waited for them to finish their chat (I’m a very shy person). Eventually, one of them turned around, looked at me as if I just interrupted something important. No greeting of any kind. I said ā€œHi, do you have item in stockā€ - He held his smug look and without any hesitation, he shook his head ā€œNOā€. Before I could finish saying ā€œokay, thank you so muchā€ he turned back around to finish his convo. Shortly after, I found an empty isle to pull over and research where I could find the item I needed, I was probably 1/2 a foot from the shelves - consciously out of the way - an employee came down the isle toward me pulling a pallet jack. As he passed me he muttered some very unkind words to me. I turned around and looked at him in utter disbelief, so I asked ā€œDid I just hear you correctly?ā€ - he repeated his verbiage and just kept walking through the double doors, muttering unkind words under his breath.

I’m just shocked that this was even able to become far worse than when I started shopping here. How is this kind of behavior ignored and overlooked by corporate? Are they promoting this aggressive and uncomfortable environment? If the employees don’t like their job, or want to attempt practicing decent customer service skills, then why are they even here? If they can’t handle a customer facing job, then look elsewhere for the sake of the people that spend their hard earned money in places like this! I walk 16 miles a day - rain, sleet, hail, snow, tornado, 100+ degrees, dogs attacking me daily - you name it. It absolutely sucks sometimes but it’s what I signed up for and it’s nobody else’s fault but my own if I’m ever unhappy with my job! I would never dream of treating my customers in such a disrespectful manner!

Now I know why the shelves are empty and merchandise is placed wherever there’s an open spot on the shelf. They are too busy with getting paid for their social life.

Do...

I didn’t want to give any stars!

I would avoid going to the Walmart in Roeland Park, KS! Not all employees, but Kathy who was working in the electronics department on Saturday evening will forget your a customer who she was helping until she had to carry my secure item up front for me for the second time! After 15 minutes finishing up my shopping Kathy just outright didn’t take it up there at all! I had to walk all the way back to find out from another employee that she was off looking for a cart for someone else. That employee couldn’t help me because she couldn’t get into the locked cabinets. Tell me why was she working in that department then! Kathy finally shows up and I’m like hey what happened to you I thought you were following me up front. She flat out said she was helping a customer. I said and who am I? She turned her back to me and walked away ignoring me! Nice so Nice! I was livid! If I didn’t need what I had in my cart and it wasn’t already almost 10:00p I would have left without anything! My cart was over $400! Not that Walmart would care.

Not only are we now working for free ringing and bagging our own items while watching 3 or more employees goofing around until our register has to wait for someone to come over to see if we were stealing anything! If those employees aren’t goofing around they are looking at you over your shoulder like we are all thieves! The entire store is almost locked in cabinets! It’s probably due to the Walmart employees who were stealing and we are all paying for it! I’m sure the residents who live in Roeland Park just love that Walmart! I’m sure the property value is low by that Walmart as well. I can see why Mission doesn’t want that Walmart moved in their city! The store is a mess most of the days. You can’t go through the regular checkouts because they need the employees at the customers volunteered checkout area so you can feel like a criminal! That place needs to close for good!

Roeland Park Walmart hires the worst employees who couldn’t care less about customer service. Most would rather hide looking like they are stocking when actually they are on their phones! That store went down the tubes after Joyce retired! I would shop at Target, but they don’t carry a lot of items that I need! At least, when I do shop there the employees are well trained, helpful and pleasant. It does nothing to complain to the manager. Then you get to meet Haylee who hides behind the rent a want to be cop! She is useless and Jason is never around for a call or a visit! This time I went directly to corporate just to let them know another unsatisfied customer has big issues with that location. They know it’s not about customer service it’s all about those profits for the shareholders!

Walmart off Shawnee Mission Parkway / 75th street is so much better! They don’t have anything locked! That will be the very last time I’m ever shopping there again!

I would love to hear anyone else’s wonderful visit to that Roeland...

Hey there-- I rarely complain about any service in a retail location. I'm fairly easy to please. I understand what working retail is like. But MAN!

It's unfortunate that the decent store I have frequented for years in Roeland Park has turned into the frustrating dysfunctional establishment I experienced. Around 5 pm on January 24, I looked online for 2 types of rather expensive calculators. Website claimed that I could buy either of them online that day and go pick them up but the only slot available was too late in the evening for me. No problem. I just chose to go buy one in store instead. Because of the cost, in the aisle there was one of those "Take me to the Electronics Dept to buy" cards in place of the calculators. I carried the card over to the electronics and the employee told me that if they had any, those calculators would be in the aisle that he pointed to- the one in which I had just picked up the card. I insisted it wasn't. He walked me over and as the card indicated it wasn't. He asked a coworker who said that they no longer hold those in the electronics Dept.and that maybe I should go ask customer service? I can see four other employees standing around just chatting in electronics and three more chatting as I'm on my way to customer service. There is a lot of new merch just sitting out on the floor. There is only ONE customer service rep and there are no less than 8 customers in her line. I decide to ask another employee instead of waiting in that line about any expensive items like the calculators being held up front. He said he didn't think so. So I left.

I'm frustrated because who knows if the website was incorrect. No one knew or cared about where expensive merchandise is supposed to be stored. Neither did they appear to care about trying to find out. And I'm seeing three employees trying to manage their own work plus that of what the other SEVEN weren't. What a misuse of resources. I know this is Wal-Mart, and there is supposed to be a labor shortage. I can understand that. But with the kind of work ethic I witnessed, even with the overabundance of extra "help", it's apparent there will continue to be at this location. Quality over quantity. I'm definitely not coming back to...
