This is a tiny 4 acre park that does not sit on an arterial street. It is in the middle of a residential neighborhood and is completely surrounded by houses that are only 50 ft. from the park. This quiet, green park was ruined by the addition of a overly large shelter that the city rents out; a unisex public restroom with doors that can not be locked from the inside; an art sculpture that is an eyesore; an obnoxious colored slide that is out of scale for the size of the park; and concrete everywhere. This park could have had the same charm as the parks in Prairie Village but instead is overdeveloped and ugly with absolutely no relationship to the surrounding Cape Cod houses. Read moreIt's a nice new park but not today accessible for children with mobility needs. The majority of the play structure is geared to older children that have typical mobility. My son could navigate the play area fine due to the new smooth rubber surface, but most of the upper slides (his favorite activity) were inaccessible to him not being able to climb up the rope access. This left the upper open slide and the smaller slide the only ones available. Thankfully there were stairs to these ones. Between the structures there are different climbing paths; my son tries hard on them but they can be a struggle. I wish there were some easier paths between the structures that can work for other types...
